"Ticking" Sound from undercarriage when car is stopped after driving

Don't know if this is normal but I can hear a tick tick sound coming from the undercarriage when I park my car and stop it after driving for sometime.

 

Is this due to thermal expansion or contraction?

doubt so.. it's comming from around the back of the car...

the aircon condenser should be dripping in front..

It probably metal contracting after car is shut down ... e.g. exhaust portion and cat converter

ah.. the CAT issue again.

Yes, I did have that tick tick sound problem and the cause was my CAT.

If you have followed my post before, you will know that I will removed and then replaced it.

Well slightly different issue.

 

This case, it's because after a drive, the cat is cooling down, thus causing the ticking sound.

 

Your case, the cat had disintegrated which shouldn't be making noise once the engine is off
