  1. I know the marketing team was popping bottles when the videos came out on social media. What happened? A convoy of modded (modified) cars were promoting the premiere of Fast X, the tenth movie in the Fast and Furious franchise. Some pretty cool cars took part, an assortment of GTR R35s and Ford Mustangs among others. However, in true Fast & Furious fashion, some complications happened. On their way to the movie, the convoy was stopped by traffic police and LTA, who happened to be there to conduct routine checks. Despite the hold up, the cars passed inspection and eventually arrived at Shaw Theatres for the premiere of the movie. According to Facebook user Daryl Giam, it was an official event organised by Vos Automotive, The Next Thing, AutoCulture Singapore & United International Pictures Singapore. Online chatter Oddly enough there were quite a few people disliking the cars. Like almost all the comments were calling for the cars to be taken away. 2. A drunk woman attacked a taxi driver on the SLE, near Upper Thomson Road, forcing the taxi driver to abandon his vehicle on the 2nd lane. She then got of the taxi and stopped 2 cars on the expressway. According to eyewitnesses, the woman was seen slumped on the hood of a black car, and also broke the windscreen wiper. She later got up and stopped another white car. Incident happened on Sunday around 1.45am http://news.omy.sg/News/Local-News/story20150914-373771
  3. and the car not under my name (but they got take down my details) will the summon be sent to my address (based on my details) or the owner's address?
  4. The last 2 weeks, I removed the glove compartment and knocked the aircon fan a little for it to spin. But now fan refused to spin anymore. Where can I fix it and how much can I expect to spend?
  5. Got into a minor incident. Was happily going to work after clearing massive jam on expressway. On my way to office, this orange fit which I assume was lost, started playing the crawl and stop game with me after I honked him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A64pIHT7H4&feature=youtu.be First 45s of video show there was no incident before that. As per title. He crawled. I honked. He stopped. He crawled at 1st gear. I honked. He stopped. I overtook. As I was overtaking him, I could hear his engine roar trying to block me. After the circle, he caught up and started high beaming me repeatedly. I guess the first honk hurt his pride. The overtaking when he went WOT torn apart his sanity. Aiyo, why nowadays people like that har? One honk only and suddenly like the world collapsed. I have been honked don't know how many times in my life when slowing down to look for a place. Sometimes unknowingly, a car will be behind. Just wave sorry sign and signal to left and let the car behind over take lah. I am sure we would have been on stomp for road rage incident if I had stopped to reason with him.
  6. wtf, T Kee also cannot? http://sg.news.yahoo.com/us-man-with-huge-...t-20120720.html

  8. Got stopped by jb tp on the way to customs on route back to sg. Tp ask me pull over and say i beat red light when i remembered clearly the light is green. Tp wants fine of 300rm but the rest i think most bros here know what to do. I mean is it common practice for them to pull such stunt? Been into jb for a year and lst encounter...very disappointing
  9. Last week I saw a WRX Expressway Mata stopped a car inside KPE near ECP exit. I thought that it is an offence to stop our car inside the KPE tunnel.
  10. Was driving along SLE today, when the taxi in front of me suddenly jammed brake. Luckily I managed to brake in time. I overtook him to prevent the incident from repeating, but was stopped by TP for careless driving. I pointed out to the TP about the braking incident, but he say he did not notice it. Instead, he issued a summon to me for "careless driving". I have a video recording of the incident: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbMpo8UHqk4 Am I in the wrong? Could I appeal with this video?
  11. These girls can stop my on the road any time . When are we getting this standard in SG?? http://www.straitstimes.com/News/World/Sto...ory_686602.html Jakarta police on charm offensive There's First Sergeant Eka Frestya, whose exotic, model-like features often stop male motorists dead in their tracks when she hands them tickets for driving recklessly. Not just a pretty face, the 23-year-old went undercover to help bust a drug dealer last year. There's Second Lieutenant Eny Kuswidyanti, who has enthralled viewers on a TV cooking show, where she helped to make a dessert called 'motley traffic light'. She declined to give her age, but her impish looks suggest she is in her late 20s or early 30s. And there's Sergeant Avvy Olivia, 28, who could well be a teeny-bopper pop star but who appears on MetroTV as well as on Jakarta's streets to direct traffic. Together, the trio of attractive police officers are leading a charge by Indonesia's embattled police force to improve its image. 'The public love having clean, nice-looking personnel serving them,' said Sgt Avvy. 'This makes them feel happier and more likely to follow traffic regulations.' Their deployment follows a number of surveys which have put the police force in a bad light, mirroring long-held accusations of graft and incompetency. In 2008, Transparency International Indonesia ranked the police force as the most corrupt institution in the country, citing rampant cases of bribery. And last December, only 37 per cent of university students said in a survey that the police performed well. But now, 1st Sgt Eka, 2nd Lt Eny and Sgt Avvy are trying to improve the police's tarnished image. Since late last year, they and several other female police officers have been appearing on MetroTV, the largest news TV station here, to deliver updates on road conditions. This is in addition to their daily duty of directing the traffic on Jakarta's streets. The attractive officers were selected from dozens of candidates proposed by various offices and departments within the police force. The successful ones were then put through presentation classes under the tutelage of Mr Mudakir Rifai, a former creative director at national TV station SCTV. 'To serve the public well, to communicate effectively, you need to present a good package,' he told The Sunday Times. The Royal Malaysian Police also plan to station good-looking, smart and personable police officers in front-line positions, they say, to present a friendlier and accessible image to the public. For now, the publicity efforts by the Indonesian police seem to be working - at least for many men. On Friday, the pretty police officers raised many eyebrows and drew smiles when they distributed roses to passing drivers on busy roads. 'They are too beautiful for police officers,' said an impressed Mr Hajoran Siregar, 39, a bank officer.
  12. Hi there, I want to relate my unusual experience on hot afternoon. One bright sunny afternoon, I decide to take an afternoon walk around KOPI SUA since I heard it may not be around one day. The moment I turned off Lornie Road, a TP followed me. He followed me to the carpark just inside KOPI SUA. I parked my car in a shady spot. He stopped his car nearby. I got out and looked at him as though, 'hey big bro, any problem?' kind of look. He stared at me for a moment and got into his car. No word exchanges. I was alone and did my afternoon walk as planned.
  13. Dear all, I have been quietly reading threads about the election lately. Most of the time, i stay on the sidelines. As an Aljunied GRC resident (staying in bedok north), I'm disappointed that the recent lift upgrading work has stopped ever since the election fever. for the past many months, the workers have toiled day n night and even on public holidays to expedite the process. but when election fever begins, coupled with the possibility of losing Aljunied GRC, lift upgrading work has become TOTAL silence. i see no construction workers anymore.. very disappointing. the threat is very real.
  14. Anyone stopped watching tv for election updates ?
  15. Just gotta relate what happened today just before MY Causeway Custom last junction, Was driving through the last junction (the traffic light was green) and suddenly a MY TP gave a hand signal to pull over. Stopped my car and on hazard light..................... MY TP: Can I see your driving licence. Me: (Gave him my licence). MY TP: Why didn't you bring IC. Me: Gave him my passport and rebuked him by telling him where would people bring IC when overseas (just passport will do). MY TP: (Kept quiet for a while) and told me that my offence was speeding through yellow light. Me: I argued that the light was green in my favour. MY TP: He told me again that my offence was as stated earlier and told me not to argue. (Fiddling with pen and notebook and pretending to write something. Me: Me LL and told him to summon me lah! MY TP: Told me to follow me to HQ and settle fine (pointing to the right of MY Custom). Me: Told him not free as rushing home and will settle next time. (New rule must settle at HQ!!!!). MY TP: Hesitate for a while (waiting for me to pop the magic statement - Kopi $). Me: I also just kept quiet (remembering not to fall into trap of bribery charge). MY TP: OK, This time I give you chance. ME: (In Jest and almost shouting).............THANK YOU ENCIK! What to do, JB cheaper medicine, groceries and petrol......................
  16. Mr Hum not scared of getting arrested? --- Apr 14, 2011 Share Tweet MP Lim Hwee Hua stopped by heckler By Leow Si Wan Serangoon Garden Member of Parliament Lim Hwee Hua was at the launch of a pledge by hawkers at Chomp Chomp food centre not to raise prices, when she was stopped by heckler. -- ST PHOTO: STEPHANIE YEOW SERANGOON Garden Member of Parliament Lim Hwee Hua was at the launch of a pledge by hawkers at Chomp Chomp food centre not to raise prices, when she was stopped by heckler. The man, who only wanted to be known as Mr Hum, accused her of making her rounds only during election time. She later told reporters that she makes visits to residents in the area, covering about 150 HDB units or 100 private households once every two to three weeks. Mrs Lim had been at the food centre on Wednesday night, presenting labels to the 33 food stalls who have agreed to maintain food prices for six months. This is the third cluster of food stalls in the Serangoon area to make the pledge.
  17. Woke up at 6am decided to go for a drive near my estate.. Went on PIE and was overtaking when a TP from behind came and instructed me to stop. Showed me his speed trap that I was doing 121kph. Don't think I did this speed anyway. He doesn't have any pictures to prove, just the speed on his crap. Any way to appeal for it? I didn't speak a word while he took down my particular. Just told me is 8 points and $170 fine. First time kena stopped by TP!
  18. Saw the other thread where Pierre Png did a dangerous stunt to stop on the PIE to confront another driver, so just relating an incident this morning. Anyone here witnessed a "champion" auntie who stop right in front of the ERP gantry after Kallang Bahru towards Tuas this morning on the 2nd lane of the PIE to insert her cashcard, and I meant stop as in 0km/h not slow down. Luckily I was on the first lane approaching the gantry when a whole row of cars on the 2nd lane came to a stop. Drove pass the car and saw an auntie stretching to insert her cashcard. Think that is a damn dangerous act especially on the expressway. Wonder if the ERP gantry have any camera to capture the incident.
  19. This morning about five to six cars including myself , had to trail behind a slow moving silver Toyota Wish in lane 1 for about ten minutes along CTE towards SLE. Then came a TP which rode beside him for a short while, then the Wish and TP stopped at the road shoulder. Dont know is it for road hogging, which looks like to me. First time I see this. *clap*
  20. I've been frequently encountering this wierd situation lately. From a distance, I noticed the traffic light in front was red and slowed down. There was already a car stopped at the traffic light in front of me. As my car approach the car in front, the light turned green. The car in front would not move till I come to a full stop behind it though there should be ample time for him to move off. I could see that the driver of the car in front is waiting for me to stop as he was looking through his rear view mirror. Have you all encounter the same ?
  21. Due to job requirements, I have to reach office at 5am occasionally. Whenever I drove past Rochor Rd towards Bukit Timah Rd and there is a road block, I will always get stopped. Do you always get stopped at road block? Does the TP stop a car based on car make?
  22. wish to maximize my pages before getting a new one. 60 pages over 5 years. 12 pages per yr is not enough for a frequent traveller. I was still able to enter msia last week with 4 months expiry left. this is contrary to what my friends told me that 6 months is needed. anyone knows ? 3 months? 1 month? thanks.
  23. Any idea what died ? BOth the speedometer and odometer stopped working. So now I drive without knowing the speed. And mileage stays the same forever. My car is a Mk4 Golf. Thanks for any enlightenment from gurus.
  24. Hey guys, i was cruising along PIE towards changi and near kallang exit there, a TP flagged me down. I thought i was speeding but with the traffic condition there, i do not think my car speed is over 80km/h. so puzzled, i stepped out of the car and the first thing i ask the officer is that..."I am not speeding right?" He gave me the assurance that i am not and ask me to open up my bonnet! Then he walk round my car and then ask me to take out my driving license and IC. i asked him what is wrong...then he say my rear lights in illegally modified.... (i had tint my rear lights but using 70% tint that we use for our rear windows) Then he go ahead to take the photos.... hai...drive for more then 10 years...first time being stopped by TP. Anyone know what is the penalty for tinted rear lights???
  25. Was proceeding to turn right towards Telok Blangah at Delta house junction towards Shenton Way when I spotted a white ant behind me . Was wondering if he was TP or ROV
