  1. Man in Thailand has 4 wives who don’t mind sharing A Thai man has four wives who don’t mind sharing him with each other. His first wife says she's proud of him.Happily ever afterAccording to Malaysian Chinese news site, the husband initially went viral on the Internet for having three wives. Perhaps not content with a crowd, the man recently gained a new wife. Polygamy, which is having more than one husband or wife, has been banned in Thailand since 1935. That particular ruling means only his first wife, Waraphon Pruksawan, is legally married to him. Despite this, all the children born to him and his other ‘wives’ take his surname. First wife proud of him Pruksawan said it is better for her husband to be open about his relationships with women, rather than having an affair behind her back. She also asked netizens to not worry about her. She added that before Pruksawan takes on a new wife, he has to get her permission first. Saying that she married him not for money, but because they have been through a lot together, Pruksawan said “the entire family loves one another”.
  2. What's on your mind when you saw your old car on road or when you saw it on SG CAR MART used car listings? For me, first question: "Wa lao eh...how much mileage the dealer tampered?"
  3. This is the Emotionally Intelligent Way To Handle Stage Fright 4 Minute Read Rather than beating yourself up about being nervous, you need to acknowledge, and even embrace, your jitters. Here’s how:- STEP 1: RECOGNIZE YOUR EMOTIONAL “SET POINT”All of us have what I like to think of as an emotional “set point,” a basic level of stress that we can manage even if it makes us uncomfortable. You might feel excited or stimulated by that level of pressure, but it doesn’t make you so anxious that your performance tanks. This level of stress differs for everybody, but once it’s crossed, crippling anxiety sets in. Maybe talking to your boss or your peers feels a little stressful, but you can still get your message across smoothly. But put you in front of a really daunting audience–your boss’s, your biggest client, or your board of directors, and your the temperature heats up. You zoom past your emotional set point, and all hope is lost. By recognizing where your own emotional set point falls, though, you can know what to expect when you go beyond it. For example, you’re not surprised when you step into a sauna or a steam room, because you were already expecting intense heat before you opened the door. Similarly, instead of being overwhelmed by your feelings, you need to recognize that you’re just temporarily beyond your emotional set point. This is a far better approach than trying to avoid going past it in the first place (that’s hopeless). Your heart rate is your barometer, so simply monitor it mentally, much as you would while running intervals on a treadmill. If your heart rate is high during your next big presentation, notice that, then take a deep breath. Slow down your exhales, and count to four in your head. This will help you get back to your emotional set point. You may still feel a little uncomfortable, but it won’t derail your talk. STEP 2: COMPARTMENTALIZE (REALLY, IT’S OKAY)You may have had a bad speaking experience at some point of your life. For example, one of my clients actually fainted in front of 300 leaders at her company. That’s an extreme example–but you might have your own triggers that spike your anxiety levels through the roof. To get beyond this, try to imagine that you’re putting images of these memories away into mental boxes, not to be touched or opened for a period of time. Worried that repressing bad memories doesn’t exactly sound like the most emotionally intelligent strategy? It is! You aren’t feeling your feelings for good–you’re noting that they’re there, then setting them aside just for the time being. Think of it as strategic compartmentalization. Then, concentrate on what you’re doing instead of what you’re feeling. Think about your breathing, your movement, and most importantly, your ideas. You can even try assigning a color to each of your ideas to help you focus–green for creative, red for emotional, and so on. By putting bad feelings away for the moment, you’re putting yourself in control of the situation so you can be present when you need to be. STEP 3: FOCUS ON THE NEXT IDEA, NOT THE NEXT WORDSpeaking is a fast-action sport. You need to keep talking at 150–200 words per minute. Imagine driving at 150–200 miles per hour. I remember test-driving a Lotus Simulator years ago at the Montreal World’s Fair, and the only way I kept from crashing was by looking further ahead down the road than I was used to. It’s kind of the same thing while speaking, especially when anxiety threatens to kick your emotions into overdrive. The best way to stay in control is to look further ahead than you’re used to in an ordinary conversation, and the way to do that is to focus on your ideas, not your words. The more you focus on your words, the more likely you’ll end up crashing into higher and higher levels of anxiety. By focusing on your ideas, you allow your thoughts to flow, one into the next. Remember: There is no right or wrong way to speak, no single turn of phrase that will save or ruin your message. It’s your ideas that matter most. By the same token, there’s no right or wrong way to feel. It’s how you handle your emotions that makes the difference. source: https://www.fastcompany.com/40501340/this-is-the-emotionally-intelligent-way-to-handle-stage-fright?utm_source=postup&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Leadership%20Daily&position=3&partner=newsletter&campaign_date=12042017 How To Write Emails That People Want To Respond To Only two simple rules:-Don’t be a time suck. It’s important to remember that busy people are, well, busy. So, if your message looks like it will take a lot of effort and elbow grease to respond to, it’s probably going to be left for later (and then likely forgotten for eternity). Instead of typing something like: I’d love to pick your brain and find out more about pursuing a career in engineering. Can we schedule a time to chat? You would write: I’m working on finding out more about the career field and I’d love to hear from you: What’s the one key skill you think someone needs in order to be successful in engineering? Put simply, you need to start with something straightforward and easy. Once you have a response, you can continue building on that momentum. Rest assured, it doesn’t need to happen all at once. 6. Australian road safety researchers on Wednesday unveiled a pioneering "attention-powered car" which uses a headset to monitor brain activity and slow acceleration during periods of distraction. The car, commissioned by the Royal Automobile Club of Western Australia, is about to depart on an awareness-raising road trip of Western Australia -- a sprawling west coast state accounting for about one-third of the Australian continent. Lead researcher Geoffrey Mackellar, from neuroengineering company Emotiv, said the car's accelerator could be overridden by a headset with 14 sensors measuring the type and amount of brain activity which determined whether a driver was distracted. In the testing phase, drivers were set specific challenges such as using their mobile phone, switching channels on the radio, drinking water or reading a map so that researchers could record their brain activity while doing so. They were also sent on a 15 kilometres per hour "boredom lap" to see what happened when their brains "zoned out" -- "pretty nasty but we enjoyed it", Mackellar said. Emad Tahtouh, from production company FINCH, said the car used an array of neural inputs and specially-designed software to "go when you're paying attention and slow when you're not". "We're looking at things like blink rate, blink duration, gaze rate -- how long they look at a point -- eyes moving, head tilts, and also frequency of task-switching and the level of brain activity when they flick over to those tasks, so it's a huge pool of data," he said. "If someone lost attention and they switched tasks to, say, reading their mobile phone, or even if they just zoned out, it would usually be represented by a very sharp dip and sometimes very erratic behaviour." The car worked by reducing acceleration when it detected a loss of attention, and speeding back up once full focus was back on driving. The pilot vehicle, a customised Hyundai i40, was built for the RAC as part of a research and publicity campaign to reduce the number of road deaths in the state, which currently run above the national average and are the worst in Australia. Although the system could have potential commercial applications, the RAC said their current focus was on research and public awareness. "The impact of inattention is now comparable to the number of deaths and serious injuries caused by speed and drink driving," said RAC chief Pat Walker. "Nationally, it is estimated inattention was a factor in 46 per cent of fatal crashes." The Australian government estimates that road accidents cost the economy A$27 billion (US$25 billion) every year. Source: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/techno...ers/825824.html
  7. In recent and not so recent times, we've seen the famous Ferrari speeding, running the red lights and crashing into the taxi, we've seen a BMW 7 series parking at the exit of a parking lot, blocking other drivers from exiting, we've seen a Lexus crashing into another vehicle and running from the accident. Granted, there are still accidents caused by not so rich people, but it seems that the rich people are taking over the news with their antics. Why? Maybe this video can shed some light.

  9. Looking for some comments from drivers who do not allow others to move into your lane during a traffic jam. When a driver has signal way ahead and slowly inching (part of the car body) into your lane. Under what circumstances would you want to drive up and cut off his route to complete that lane change even at the risk of a collision? I really cannot find a logical reason and give you the benefit of doubt cos I always try to assist other driver to lane change when they are stuck.

  15. A salesman was jailed for six months and fined $2,500 on Thursday for criminal trespass and intentional harassment. Jasmond Ong Chun Wee, 31, admitted to two charges of trespassing into a kindergarten and a childcare centre and two of causing alarm and defacing the walls of the childcare toilet. Two other similar charges were considered. The court heard that he felt sexually aroused on April 7 this year and entered the PAP Kindergarten in Pasir Ris Drive 6 to write obscene messages on the classroom whiteboard. He left after masturbating for a few minutes. Then on Aug 1, he felt a sexual urge. He went to Nissi Childcare, also in Pasir Ris, to act out his fantasies of having sex with young girls, drinking their urine and eating their faeces. http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_730124.html

  18. These girls can stop my on the road any time . When are we getting this standard in SG?? http://www.straitstimes.com/News/World/Sto...ory_686602.html Jakarta police on charm offensive There's First Sergeant Eka Frestya, whose exotic, model-like features often stop male motorists dead in their tracks when she hands them tickets for driving recklessly. Not just a pretty face, the 23-year-old went undercover to help bust a drug dealer last year. There's Second Lieutenant Eny Kuswidyanti, who has enthralled viewers on a TV cooking show, where she helped to make a dessert called 'motley traffic light'. She declined to give her age, but her impish looks suggest she is in her late 20s or early 30s. And there's Sergeant Avvy Olivia, 28, who could well be a teeny-bopper pop star but who appears on MetroTV as well as on Jakarta's streets to direct traffic. Together, the trio of attractive police officers are leading a charge by Indonesia's embattled police force to improve its image. 'The public love having clean, nice-looking personnel serving them,' said Sgt Avvy. 'This makes them feel happier and more likely to follow traffic regulations.' Their deployment follows a number of surveys which have put the police force in a bad light, mirroring long-held accusations of graft and incompetency. In 2008, Transparency International Indonesia ranked the police force as the most corrupt institution in the country, citing rampant cases of bribery. And last December, only 37 per cent of university students said in a survey that the police performed well. But now, 1st Sgt Eka, 2nd Lt Eny and Sgt Avvy are trying to improve the police's tarnished image. Since late last year, they and several other female police officers have been appearing on MetroTV, the largest news TV station here, to deliver updates on road conditions. This is in addition to their daily duty of directing the traffic on Jakarta's streets. The attractive officers were selected from dozens of candidates proposed by various offices and departments within the police force. The successful ones were then put through presentation classes under the tutelage of Mr Mudakir Rifai, a former creative director at national TV station SCTV. 'To serve the public well, to communicate effectively, you need to present a good package,' he told The Sunday Times. The Royal Malaysian Police also plan to station good-looking, smart and personable police officers in front-line positions, they say, to present a friendlier and accessible image to the public. For now, the publicity efforts by the Indonesian police seem to be working - at least for many men. On Friday, the pretty police officers raised many eyebrows and drew smiles when they distributed roses to passing drivers on busy roads. 'They are too beautiful for police officers,' said an impressed Mr Hajoran Siregar, 39, a bank officer.

Watched a re-run last night and it was really nostalgic. Fell over when Brown asked the Italian (or Spanish) guy to make a sentence using the word "indisposition" and the latter blah blah blah and said something like"..playing soccer and i was in THIS POSITION...". Really funny show!
