maybe the swedes are too busy wif their hot tubs to bother abt making a different set of foglight assembly so go for the easy way out and omit bulb instead. laugh.giflaugh.gifthumbsup.gif

I tried going to subaru club but it seems that my email is banned..... [:/]

Is it because they don't accept hotmail, lycos and yahoo etc......?

You need to have registered email from ISP. Happened to me previously.

So I tried posting over here in MCF and thankfully, I still get responses.

Trust me, I am EE designer, even the lowest spec electronics components come with specification of 5 degC to 50 degC( just estimate for the high temp value). Definitely something wrong with the remote receiver or your transmitter.

Your SE is not engineering trained...no way remote don't work on room temp unless the circuit is faulty.

The best is sending your car back to check...SE don't know the technical stuff, anything he don't know will quote you it is normal.

Btw, whats the fuel consumption for your 5ser? Averages 8-9km per litre or better? I tested the 320 coupe and its quite nice although its underpowered. Who knows I may join the BeeM club soon [cool][sly]

Hi, yes, there's only one right fog light, because our car is right hand drive. If in countries that's left hand drive, the fog light will be on the left. I believe this is cost cutting, not what conti specs. I added the left fog light myself, just need to buy a bulb holder, drill a hole on the plastic, connect up the wire, that's it. Subaru's tail light design is such that the opening is within the boot, so no worry about water proving problem.

Regarding the remote control, my guess is there's somehow water leak into the related circuitary. Since car is only 12V, no serious problem. Once dry up, everything should be ok. I don't know where is the remote control unit in the car, can ask the workshop people, they sure know. Just try use a hair dryer on it, if it's easily accessible.

Cost cutting measure eh......that I didn't know. I'm not too flustered about the rear fog lights coz I doubt I wll be using it (at least not over here in S'pore). Anyway tks for the DIY tip.

I will be going for my first servicing next Wed and probably get them to look at the remote. Happened again today. [mad]
