2006 Lexus IS . Are you ready?!

To be launched in 2 weeks' time at the Geneva Motorshow.

 

The latest issue of the auto magazine "Best Car" published in Tokyo has just previewed possible IS2006 for the domestic market here, as follows.

 

 

Entry model price=2,500,000yen

2.5L V6 4GR-FSE 215ps@6400rpm, torque=26.5kg@3800rpm

with 6-speed AT and possibly 6-speed manual shift

 

Sport Version price=3,800,000yen

3.5L V6 5GR-FSE 300ps@6500rpm, torque=39.0kg@3800rpm

front tire=225/45R17, rear tire=255/35/R18

with 6-speed AT for 2006 model, and with BMW SMG-type manaul shift sometime near future

 

Dimension specs of the 2006 IS (for domestic market here)

Overall length: 4550mm = 179.1 in (2.6 in longer than current model)

Overall width: 1785mm = 70.3 in (2.4 in wider than current model)

Overall height: 1410mm = 55.5 in

Wheelbase: 2730mm = 107.5 in (2.4 in loner than current model)

IMHO, does not seems very impressive from the outlook. The rear looks like a Mazda 6 while the front .... Hmmm.. No comments.

maybe trying to copy Mazda 6 model cause it bagged down the "CAR OF THE YEAR 2003"... or doing a replica to attract people.. but price wise how? Must be ex thou in my opinion.... Lexus leh... brand comes with a tag thou...
