Hi all,

Am new to MCF. Will be booking a Latio Sport soon and it comes with 15" alloys, 185/65R15 tires. What advantages would there be to upgrading to 16" rims? Would appreciate some basic advice as I know nothing in this area whatsoever. :/

However, after reading through some posts and websites, I'm thinking of switching to 16" OZ Superleggeras with Michelin Pilot Precedas for a balance between performance and some comfort. Any comments on this combination, and what specs tires would I need for a Latio Sport with 16" rims?

Thanks!

Stock - 185/65R15

can also use the following sizes

205/60-15

195/60-15

Else plus 1 would be

195/55-16

215/50-16 (best fit)

For Latio sport try 215/50-16, very Chio... but rear brake drum

spoils the look. [:/]

Hey teddi

wanna ask u some stuff. Latio Sport driver too and i agree the stock rims er...don quite match the car. Looks too small. Anyway with regards to your recommendations right, I thought if we wanted to increase by 1" then the correct profile should be at 55? If 215/50-16, would this mean the rolling diameter is small? Or was this recommendation made to counter the lagginess cos of the increase of 185-215?

Need ur clarification thanks!

Yes plus 1 fitment from 185/65R15 is 195/55/R16

To get 195 in width, I can easily get 195/60-15 without buying new rims!

Latio body is smaller compared to Sunny, hence personally I would not upsize,

will just change to better tyres and settle for 195/60-15 profile.

However should you want to go 16" then go for 215/50-R16 as this range of

tyres will come with Rim protector and of course thinner side walls to you

better handling, feedback and cornering.... [;)]

Lastly confirm if 215 would hit mudguard at full turn.....

Bro, my post almost 1 year old liao! I upsized to 16" rims upon collection. I'm not very fussy about FC but I did get lightweight Superleggeras for performance anyway. 16" rims with lower profile, wider tyres mean better stability! [thumbsup]

Hi all, newbies here . I am currently on 205/50/16 tyre . intend to change tyre soon, can any one advise my rim can fit 205/55/16 , will the tyre hit the side fender when doing full turn , i am tempted by the Michellen (geremany) tyre promo . my current ride tyre look very small

No problem. I am on 205/55/16 for my latio. The advantage is the slight increase in height prevent the rear toll hook hitting the car park wheel stopper. Overall, it looks better with the gap between the tyres and wheel arc filled up too.
