I want to test this full tank can go how much first..then top up to 3/4 then enter lor.

I notice that from 1/4 to fill to 3/4 level is almost the same as 3/4 to full(very full to the brim)...so I think still worth it.

Not right at all. I pump from 3/4 tank up to brim. Consistently get 12.5-13km/L . Petrol RON no difference in FC figures.

can share the brand of fuel and octane you use ? you told me about the engine oil already. Your car stock right ? I 120++ 1/2 tank left [sweatdrop] but sometimes at traffic light, can see the meter go back to near 3/4. weird crappy crap, 1st servicing, i going to [smash][smash] and today i call on 3 occasion to book servicing, nobody at the servicing center pick up the call, think they seriously lacking in manpower. I feel like doin a compilation of all the reported problem and write on story book to GM to let them know wtf is happening here, dun care they wanna screw SA or GM Daewoo at korea or thai assembly plant, I wanna a compensation for causing me to have fright syndrom and high blood pressure. Anyone read wheels magazine, got a nice big story on GM and chevy.

A car is in everyway like that woman of our life. whether she has a big appetite, the parent screw up, we will always love her till day do us part, Ah MAN

I have used all the RON grades available locally and north. No difference. Driving style. I shift up fast. Very fast. Only time I don't do that is to power up to 70+kph on 2nd or 3rd to enter expressway. Every 2kRPM shift up in urban environment. My hands work like racer going through a track.

The idea behind shifting up fast is this: Why use torque that you don't need? The next traffic light is less than a minute away. By the time you reach it, you are still on 3rd gear. I hit 5th gear when I am 55kph and above. Usually travelling on suburban areas, 55-60kph. The engine will groan abit but it is not languishing.

When you brake and RPM falls, shift down when it hits 1.5kRPM and below. This time you need the torque, time to call it up by using the lower gears.

In this way, you will save gas.

hmm, fast shifting. I think i shift quite fast. but my car need a bit higer rpm, to move on progressively, coz of the extra weight, I try about 60km at 5 gear, if the road exhibits some contour, the speed will start to drop even rpm stays more or less on the 2k mark, so u interactively drop gear, or you just maintain your feet position until 1.5k mark. so technique is minimum time for accerleration btw gear shift is the way to go. one thing is, I never seen the optra saloon version manual gear shift, but my wagon one, the throw is very long, i scare if play like racer, later the thing spoil [laugh]

Is that mean try to keep higher gear when drive. But some how it is consume more when engine rpm is too low and you may need to floor more then comsume more fuel. How to balance.

My optra station wagon FC, 1800km only, 60L, SPC 95

3/4, 140

1/2, 290

1/4, 460

The car just pass 1k service. Seems getting better and tank are bottom bigger than top.

The key is the RPM range. 1.5kRPM and below, gear down. Reach 2kRPM, gear up. Very very narrow range. I work very hard on the stick.
