Bosebani Neutral Newbie April 22, 2006 Share April 22, 2006 >>ya, I do have space constrait. Audio Edge seems to offer a much better price to me for the Pioneer Active Sub. Any comments on this shop? >> Audioedge is my installer, so far so good Can try to look for Ah Foon or Mr Er ↡ Advertisement
Kwongwing Neutral Newbie April 22, 2006 Share April 22, 2006 An active sub is a relatively simple item to install - just a pair of RCAs, and a power connection only. Any installer would be able to do it - do note that Audio Edge has a loyal following in MCF with a lot of Brothers' high-end systems being installed there - like Bosebani's[thumbsup]
Sony 1st Gear April 22, 2006 Share April 22, 2006 That's ensuring... I really need to do a stop to my "research", so much so that my goalpost keep moving Really appreciate all the feedback and comments you guys have gave
Sony 1st Gear April 22, 2006 Share April 22, 2006 Yup, spoken to Er about it and he told me the Pioneer active is more than enough. From there, I can see that he really recommend and do not "chop carrothead" by asking me to get more expensive things even when I ask him about basslink, bazooka or steelmate. Kwongwing Neutral Newbie April 22, 2006 Share April 22, 2006 Whatever you do - after you have installed your active sub - do NOT listen to the IASCA CD. Or else, like me like that spend 3 months thereafter wait for my current sub to be installed.
Sony 1st Gear April 22, 2006 Share April 22, 2006 what is the IASCA CD about? Is it some poison that make you keep upgrading?
Kwongwing Neutral Newbie April 22, 2006 Share April 22, 2006 Dunno whether want to let you know ... IASCA stands for the Int'l Automobile Sound Challenge Association. (The equivalent in Singapore is known as SASCA.) http://www.iasca.com/ They have a reference CD which is used for their SQ competition. A lot of bassy tracks which an active sub just would not do Anyway, after listening to other set-ups and then to my then system ... changed to the sub I currently have

Sturtles 6th Gear April 22, 2006 Share April 22, 2006 Hi bro, heard about your very addictive ICE setup... Due to space constraints, i prefer active subs under seats, but heard steelmate is not as good as the pioneer ones, and most shops only carry these 2 models.. or some mbq etc Would love to find out more about suitable and reasonably performing active subs
Bosebani Neutral Newbie April 22, 2006 Share April 22, 2006 Active subs samll enougn to be install under the seat not many choices. Do look around, best is ask the installer test out on your car for you to decide
Sturtles 6th Gear April 22, 2006 Share April 22, 2006 Thanks bro! One thread here mentioned cube active subs that fits under seats... if its good, i might just go for that The infinity basslink is good, but its quite big... too tall to fit in the spare tire well ↡ Advertisement
