Install insulator on the aircon pipe

Good start for the pics. I think most of us know where the pipes are. Don't you think the 'x2' pipe is wee bit too close to the engine? Pretty narrow...kinda hard to attach the insulator plus foil...

I will try this way:

 

Measure the lenght required for the hose,

Slit the hose on one side only,

the slit on the hose should be able to hold on to pipe;

 

Get Aluminium foil in a Roll with width of about 3cm, get those

with sticky tape on one side. Roll over the Insulator.

 

Do U think, this way on work?...Advise pl.

 

Hope it work as easy as i think.

Anyway...i am a lousy with DIY workmanship

It's worth a try but risky. Dunno whether engine will go up in flames!

 

It's still best that we wait for some pics from the original threader, Tanhl.

I got access to 3M aluminium tape. Not silver looking tape. It is real aluminium with adhesive on one side.

Nope. Scrounging for better materials to use first.

OK...finally wrapped up my Aveo5 Air-Con pipe.

Not the Best of DIY as seen in Pic.

Will re-do after getting better grade Alumiumium Foil.

Do it at yr own RISK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Found the insulator type of cover at Daiso IMM. Decided to DIY to cover the air-con pipe.

 

Pic 1 = material ( 2 layers of foam and 1 layer of foil)

Pic 2 = radiator area

Pic 3 = firewall area

 

PS: pls wait till engine cool down..

I saw this thing in Daiso too. Freaking cheap. Actually it is to be used for their garden tap to prevent it from freezing in winter.

Do update us on any difference in terms of interior temperature. Heh...if can use thermostat as indicator, it'll be better.
