Danieltan07 Neutral Newbie May 9, 2005 Share May 9, 2005 what is the correct pressure for tyre? I am driving a city idsi auto. Does the pressure varies with different type of rims (14 or 15) or with different type of brand tyre or what? ↡ Advertisement
Toyo 1st Gear May 9, 2005 Share May 9, 2005 Recommended pressure is 220 for front, 210 for rear and 240 for spare. but i'm pumping 230 for my 15" wheels which is recommended by my tyre shop. Ultimately it depends on you.
Yeobh 4th Gear May 9, 2005 Share May 9, 2005 Use the recommeded air pressure as the base, you can increase or decrese by few percents to suite yr comfort level

Danieltan07 Neutral Newbie May 9, 2005 Author Share May 9, 2005 just saw the label. but someone told me to pump front 235 and back 225. I wonder why?
Johnchong Neutral Newbie May 9, 2005 Share May 9, 2005 Cuz the front is heavier? ie. weight distribution is front-biased. Except BMW. They're proud of their 50-50 distribution. However, nowadays, most manuals recommend same pressure all-round. For long journeys with full load, you might want to increase the rear pressure though. Johnchong Neutral Newbie May 9, 2005 Share May 9, 2005 Hehe, should we adjust tyre pressure to tune handling characteristics? Think a lot of our cars have too much understeer or sluggish steering.
Yeobh 4th Gear May 9, 2005 Share May 9, 2005 Slight over inflation means less tyre rubber are in contact with the road that also means less rolling resistance.Over all, easier to steer and slight saving of fuel but less comfortable rid.
Victor68 Turbocharged May 9, 2005 Share May 9, 2005 I think it got to do with the road you drive too. Highway better to go slightly under pressure for better grip whilst city road slightly over pressure for better comfort and FC.
Johnchong Neutral Newbie May 10, 2005 Share May 10, 2005 Ok... The manual recommends 220, but I think it's a bit low for Accord leh. So I pump 230/240. ↡ Advertisement
