u mean radiator flush once a year?

okie thanks alot smile.gif

but why coolant is green color leh?y dun hv pink color?banana color?apple color?rolleyes.gif

=================================

Once a year is pretty good. I dont flush at all. Just change my rad every 6 years or so with a 2nd hand one. [laugh][laugh][laugh] Seriously, as I said earlier, I just put a bottle of coolant in every year or so when the colour gets very light.

Coolant (ethyl glylcol [spelling?]) is green & is the common type used for older jap cars. New jap cars have other colours like orange, red. But these cannot b used for older jap cars. Same as the coolant used for conti cars. Different colour lets us know if it's suitable for different types of cars.

If u want different colours, use green as primary colour & mix red or blue food dye to make your own choice. [laugh] But please dont b tempted to drink it if u thirsty. [angel]

I second that, infact water alone will have 50% better heat transfer than 50/50 coolant mix but the problem is water alone will cause rust. That's why a anti-corrosion additives will have to add to prevent rust or corrosion.

=========================

I used to think coolant keeps the engine cool as I heard bangkok drivers use 100% coolant. I later found this to be misleading as the water cools the engine. The coolant actually has other tasks.

If you are doing yearly, flush with water. Its good enough already. No need to use special flushes. Only use special acidic flushes when sediment is found in your normal water flush.

====================

I always find rusty sediment in the overflow tank after some time. I just wash the tank every year & fill with a bottle of coolant. I know im very lazy. [sleeping]

My 2nd hand rad lasts abt 4-5 years, so then I just repalce the rad when it starts to leak. [:p]
