17" Rims - How light is light?

Juz curious, what is deemed as 'light' for 17" rims? Some taiwan rims are like 9kg and some jap ones abt 8.0-8.5kg. Views pls.

<6kg 17" rim would oso probably cost over $700-$800/pc. sweatdrop.gif

oic....read somewhere b4 that every kg of unsprung weight is equilvalent to dunno how many bhp or something lidat. anyone knows? confused.gif

ok, what if overall weight increase by 1kg/rim but overall diameter is smaller, say, 1.5%? does that translate into any reduction in inertia?

Yeap ! And don't forget the tyre weight.

 

For a guage:

AD07: 22lb

DZ101: 22lb

RevSpec II: 21lb

Goodrich g-Force: 24lb

CSC2: 18lb

where can u find info on the tyre weights? wonder how heavy are 215/45/17 F1s?
