  1. THESE BMWS OFFER LUXURIOUS DRIVING PLEASURE There has never been a larger BMW stable than now, and these three cars are the top luxury offerings from the Bavarian automaker. What's in the recipe for a luxury vehicle? Comfort, quality and good looks are some of the ingredients. While these might be the fundamentals, various supplemental factors should be added to cater to the unique tastes of different car buyers. When it comes to luxury, BMW gives you the power of choice - fitting your each and every need, no matter which model you choose. Here are the top-of-the-range BMWs, each a true testament to the brand's expertise in luxury, and what it is about each car that makes them special. 1. The 7 It all starts with the quintessential executive luxury sedan, the BMW 7 Series. There are a few cars that define the luxury sedan segment. The 7 Series is the pinnacle of it all, with looks and a level of comfort that's hard to beat. There is no doubting the 7er's big first impressions. Its strong front is expressive and bold, and The 7 is the car you'll choose if you want your presence to be made known. You only have one chance to make the first impression, and with The 7, you'll certainly make it count. And when it comes to levels of comfort, the 7 Series has plenty. It is a true lounge-like experience inside, especially in the rear where there's loads of legroom. 2. The X7 Looking for the same qualities but in a seven-seat SUV package? The X7 marks its spot with luxury, presence, and space. The X7 certainly makes an impact, and is perhaps the strongest-looking full-sized SUV out today. But where it shines is in the details. The X7 exudes high quality, with premium finishes such as diamond-cut trims for the gear selector and iDrive rotary knob. There are two full-sized seats in the third row, which means 7 people can fit into the X7 comfortably. And when it comes to space, the X7 has plenty. If a getaway up North with the family and a round of golf in between is in the books, the X7 will whisk everything and everyone in absolute luxury. 3. The 8 Want to indulge in luxury, and the impeccable style of a two-door coupe? Well, the 8 Series is for you - a true blue grand tourer that has a sports coupe silhouette and more than just a dash of luxury. In M850i xDrive guise, it sports a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that produces a tremendous 523bhp and 750Nm of torque. With these figures, tarmac-swallowing capabilities are guaranteed, and The 8 will certainly get any job done with the grace and pace that matches the luxurious fittings and grand affair expected of a BMW flagship. What if you don't want to miss any of the gorgeous looks, but have the need for four doors? Well, there's the 8 Series Gran Coupe. The standout luxury features and design aren't just the only things that make these cars the top-of-the-line BMWs. It is through technology and safety features that come as standard for these cars. 4. Driving Assistant Professional This is BMW's top of the line driving assistance suite, and covers a range of driving assistance features which include Active Cruise Control, Active Steering and Traffic Jam Assist. Driving Assistant Professional certainly helps in emergency situations, improving overall safety. But it takes away the stresses of driving, too. Traffic Jam Assist, for example, works by collecting data from a multitude of radar sensors and a stereo camera. It can detect traffic moving off and slowing down. It can steer as well as accelerate and brake in a traffic jam, without the need for driver inputs. With its gamut of features, the Driving Assistant Professional package reduces the stresses of driving with the latest technology helping the driver keep extra eyes on the road. 5. BMW Laserlight We've heard about High-Intensity Discharge and LED headlamps, but for these BMWs, they come with lasers. Fired through a series of mirrors in the headlight, the light is then focused into a phosphorus-filled lens. This creates a highly intense white light that is 10 times brighter than LED-created light, thereby creating more range from a smaller head light unit. While it improves illumination, it prevents others from getting dazzled too. With an aid of a camera, the Laserlights can illuminate signboards and objects, and direct light away from oncoming traffic. 6. Integral Active Steering The sizeable footprint of these cars certainly brings about added presence and style. But if you assume a large BMW to be one that is hard to manoeuvre, you'd be wrong. The system adapts the steering to different driving speeds and situations, reducing the amount of effort required to turn the wheel. The system turns the rear wheels, too. This helps reduce the turning radius in low speed situations, and for smooth lane changes at higher speeds. All in all, it adds to the overall comfort and driving abilities.
  2. BMW has been on a roll in the recent years by coming up with many different models meant to cater to each and everyone. So that set us thinking... What if someone tried to gather some of BMW's more significant models in one location... Yup, we managed to gather them here for your viewing pleasure. You can read more about the feature here. Meanwhile, here are some behind-the-scene photos from the shoot. Of course, there is more of the lovely 850i too. Some of the cars arriving on the trailer... 850i touches down first and gets shot immediately. The rest of the cars arrive.. This was my first time trying the 740iL and I now understand why they say it is one of the more sporting luxury sedan around. Another first time for me, the 320d is effortlessly brisk. Can't decide the petrol version is better or this. Checking out what hiding under the bonnet. The only cabriolet here. Feeling very pampered in here. Love the blue. 1,3,5,7. After a good 5 hours under the sweltering heat, we finally had lunch and it marked the end of the shoot. But before we went off, I got a few more shots of the 850i to share... No B-pillar makes it look sexier. Check out the old school buttons. You get traction control and variable dampers here too even though the car is more than 20 years old. Being a 850i means it runs a V12 under the hood.
