  1. http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2012..._luce_interview do you think this is a fair comment on our younger generation? but looking in this forum, some old members are just as spoilt so are we really being fair to label the youth today or are we just pot calling the kettle black what do you think are reasons or acts that make you think the younger generations are spoiled brats let me begin: 1. Helper helping NS MAN carrying havesack 2. Helper kneeing down to tie shoelaces for school children
  2. Are our Roads becoming dangerous because of young brats? Recently I was driving as usual on a 60kmph road in the middle lane. All of a sudden a black Hyundai Matrix with a P-Plate swerve and filter from the right into my path barely 2 meters from my front bumper. I had to brake to prevent hitting the Matrix. There were no signs of apology and the Matrix drove in a brazen way. Hence I decided to take a look and filtered right and paced the car. It was a teenage girl apparently unaware of her deed continuing to chat with a male passenger happily. As she was not too attractive I didn't take a longer look and decided to filter in front of her. I gave her about half car length with signal lights, I think she felt belittled as my car was incidentally more than double her car both in price and performance, she quickly filtered left. So i follow suite and since we were both were at about 80kmph, i decided to quickly follow the speed limit and kept at 55kmph.. for some distance toward a traffic light. While doing so, i looked at the rear view mirror. The teenage girl made some signs and hand gestures which I do not understand. She show a hand sign as if filtering, followed by a "so what" gesture. I didn't respond but kept looking. At that point we were stationary at the red lights. I kept looking... I think they couldn't take it anymore and got annoyed. The male passenger show his middle finger. I saw a immediate reaction from the teenage girl as if trying to push away his hand... then they started to smile and laugh. As I am a Methodist, I have a cross at my rear windshield. The male passenger and the female started to make sort of a "Praying" hand gesture and jeering at the same time. I kept my calm. So when the lights turned green, I drove on and as they passed me on the left I showed them a $50 note and make a gesture that says "you do not have money". Through some means I have identified the duo and their residence. If you were in my shoes what would you have done?

  5. Manager gets threatening calls after NTU 'brats' are exposed http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singapor...nt.jsp?id=46373 "When you go out, you better watch out," an unknown caller said to the manager who alerted STOMP about some NTU undergrads challenging him, after one of them was caught parking illegally on campus and was told to move away. And in all his years as a manager, ravebroNTU says this is the first time he has come across such behaviour coming from the school's students. The STOMPer had earlier recounted a nasty confrontation he had with the errant driver, who insisted he was in the right though he had parked illegally in a wheel-clamp zone, and the latter had challenged the manager to a fight. The story was then posted on STOMP, and when it did, the threatening calls started. "I believe it is the same student, the driver of the car who is the culprit; he sounds the same, though he had called from a private number. "He called me twice on my office line, and twice on my mobile phone. "The first time he called, he asked me for my name and I told him who I was." RavebroNTU suspects this was how the student got his cellphone number, as he had put it on his Facebook account for his friends to contact him. "He called me a few times subsequently and said things like: "You are such a loser, and have nothing better to do." "He also threatened me over the phone, warning me to 'better watch out when you go out'. The STOMPer told us he intends to lodge a police report once he gets off work today. An NTU spokesperson says this is an isolated incident. In an email response, the spokesperson says: ""When a student convicts a crime or attempts to endanger another student or member of the university community by acting in a manner which is detrimental to the reputation, dignity or interest of a fellow student or University staff, speaking or acting in a threatening manner or causing bodily harm, he/she may be required to appear before the Board of Discipline. "Just want to add that this is an isolated case." really this NTU brat a SORE LOSER and CHICKEN leh...if want to threaten, tell the manager straight to the face personally, dun need to chook pattern by using anonymous call..hopefully this manager report to police and NTU management, have the RAT expell from Uni and let him fall back to the earth...cant imagine this RAT step into working society and behave like a "Siao Ren"....seriously this RAT really worst then woman...what a wussy he is
  6. Letter from Joseph Khoo I was from an all-boys school that used caning as one of the means of disciplining. I can assure you that boys who were caned tried their best to stay out of trouble after that. Dr Benjamin Spock, the well-known child psychologist, warned the babyboomer generation of parents that they should not discipline their children because such actions could warp a kid's fragile ego and harm the generation to come. However, before his death in 1998, Dr Spock made an amazing urnaround: He realised that he had been wrong. He said: "We have reared a generation of brats. Parents aren't firm enough with their children for fear of losing their love or incurring their resentment." While not advocating widespread canning as the main method of disciplining errant male and female students, I am convinced it is still an effective way to impose discipline. We must enforce discipline while striving for a delicate balance: While we do not want to raise children in an atmosphere of paralysing fear, we also do not want to unintentionally breed a generation of brats. We have breed a generation of brats?
