The cam car caught the A4 speeding (way over the limit, that’s for sure) and colliding into a motorcyclist and pillion, sending them off the bike. Several road users rushed to help the injured but the culprit did not bother to stop and instead, fled the scene. According to the caption, the driver was eventually apprehended and arrested for suspected drink driving. Drink driving carries a heavy penalty in Singapore. In fact, to deter anyone else from drink driving, we even have a colleague who got caught drink driving and wrote about his experience! The consequence doesn't sound fun at all. hello comrades, just curious to find out your action when you had an accident with someone who had been drinking, regardless how tipsy he/she is. scenario you just had an accident (regardless who's fault) with no party injured, however, you suspect that the driver had been drinking with smell of alcohol...... 1) should you call the cops ? this step will put the driver in jail & his insurance company will not compensate you because he drink drives. civil sue follows. 2) take down particulars & report to own insurance companies within 24hrs ? this step will give him the chance to deny his drink driving & there will be a case. 3) threaten to call the cops & ask for monetary compensation ? this step will put you at risk for not reporting within 24hrs....especially so IF he decided to report next day when he is sober. 4) prepare a note & make him undertake all repair cost / compensation. both parties report to their own insurance companies....if he refuses to agree & turn violent, call the cops ? i have not mention who's fault is it at the accident because he who drinks & drives always on the losing end even if it is not his fault. appreciate your valuable input. thank you.
