  1. [extract] A flat tyre is one of the worst nightmares a driver could encounter. Some may not have the right tools in their ride or do not know how to change the flat tyre with their spare ones. Wouldn
  2. Bought a new Japanese paste wax for dark colored cars, that claimed to last 3mths and is water repellent. Did a preparation round of wash + SRP polish + liquid wax on the previous wk, and one wk later, washed the car and put on this new Jap wax. It was actually pretty easy to use, and as long as applied thinly, easy to buff off wif MF cloth as well, and smells of fresh lemon! After my ride was smooth and shiny, I parked it in my company's open carpark, under rain and shine... and this is the result 2 wks later... Water spots spotted on the bonnet, but only those on the top of the slope (nearer to windscreen) are more obvious. But the water spots on the boot are more obvious, probably becos the boot is level and water does not flow down easily. And the bottom of all doors are covered with muddy water spots fr driving through all the water paddles. Though my ride looks pretty bad wif all the water spots and a couple of bird shits on the roof, surprisingly the car is still rather shiny. So it's actually considered not so bad for a not-washed-for-2-wks car Then I washed my ride with shampoo, wash down and dried it, and the shine is back again! Like as if I've just waxed it! I'm not sure if it's really possible for this wax to last 3mths in our weather, but for the ease of use and shine that last, I think it's not so bad The only thing I dun understand is, why the Japanese must use diff wax for dark and light cars leh? Dun see why shd there be a diff unless they added some additives so that dark car wax makes a dark car looks darker and vice versa for light car wax? hmm...
  3. Chemically it ( a polymer) is a molecule formed by the chemical union of five or more identical combining units called monomers. The Polymer and waxes used for detailing are semi-solid; they are actually a very concentrated solution in an organic solvent or aqueous emulsion. Basic components; although somewhat more complex than other products, waxes and sealants also involve just basic chemistry, when a formulator designs a wax or sealant, they consider several factors; ease of application and removal, cleaning ability (if required), depth of gloss or shine, durability and resistance to detergents / soap. Unfortunately, no one wax or sealant product can meet all of the above characteristics. If one is emphasized and enhanced, it will be to the detriment of another. For example, increased durability means that application and removal can be more difficult. Or, if cleaning capability is emphasized, the depth of shine will be less. The best wax or sealant to use is one that provides as many of the characteristics as possible to achieve a shiny, durable finish. Note- many waxes and polymer sealants actually look better after an initial post-application wash The basic components used in waxes and sealants are; 1. Solvents or mineral oils- used for chemical cleaning, and as a carrier system, it also makes products workable and to provide spread ability, as is the case with Carnauba wax, which in its natural state is rock hard. 2. Emulsifiers - to stabilize the product (oil and water) and make it easier to use 3. Very-light abrasives
  4. Hi all, I would like to ask which is the most durable wax that can withstand the heavy rain. Most of the waxes I've tried got washed away after the downpour. Currently using the NXT but was quite disappointed with the rain durability. Just waxed my car on sunday and after yesterday's afternoon heavy showers, all the damn wax was gone. Car so freakin squeaky and difficult to clean the water off the car. Any power products that can "tahan" the heavy rain esp during the rainy season now? Experience from those who used diff types of waxing products care to share?
