  1. 'Upside-down' poem by US teen Chanie Gorkin lifts spirits of people across the world A teenager from the United States has lifted the spirits of people all around the world with an inspirational poem that has gone viral. http://www.straitstimes.com/world/united-states/upside-down-poem-by-us-teen-lifts-spirits-of-people-all-over-the-world#xtor=CS1-10 Are you inspired? Hope it does to you, and have a wonderful day and life
  2. Poor guy did not even know his shoulder epaulettes were pinned upside down... Just curious why his course mates or anyone passing by who had served did not point it out to him. From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...pside_down.html Posted on 04 Feb 2012 Oops! Newly-commissioned SAF officer wears his shoulder ranks upside down STOMPer Xin sent in a photo of a newly-commissioned SAF officer -- only thing is, his shoulder ranks were upside down. Said the STOMPer: "I took this photo from facebook, there are lots of comments by netizens on it. "It shows a newly-commissioned SAF officer wearing his ranks upside down on his shoulders. "He and his family looks like they are from China." Although some netizens on facebook felt this was disrespectful to Singapore and that the officer should have checked, others felt it was an honest mistake and should be forgiven; with his squad mates held responsible for not alerting him: "I feel sorry for the guy. Whatever it is, local born or not, he's earned his rank. If his mum pinned the epaulettes on inverted by mistake, well it's an honest mistake. Whatever it is, she looks proud of her son so I say let them have their deserved moment without ridiculing them. "All those who trolled here probably are not officers and are just quick to comment... The rank epaulette is affixed by family members and in most cases the officer stands at attention and looks forward and does not look down at his shoulder.. Lets face it, how many people look down at their own shoulders??? "If we should blame someone it should be his squad mates around him for not realising and telling him!!!"
  3. Another unforgivable act of hanging our flag upside down. From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...pside_down.html Posted on 07 Jan 2012 National flag at Sengkang hung upside down STOMPer Jeremy spotted an upside down national flag beside the multi-storey carpark at Block 210 Compassvale Lane. He says: "National flag upside down. "This was at Sengkang, beside the MCP of Block 210 Compassvale Lane. "Is this done by a Singapore citizen, or a non-Singaporean?"
  4. Could it be the works of pranksters? PA better explain as this could have violated a thousand items under the Penal Code on the proper treatment of our national flag. Puzzling their CC staff could have missed this embarrassing situation when they went about their daily work... From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sgseen/singapore_sotongs/739762/hanging_two_national_flags_upside_down_is_simply_not_acceptable.html Wake up Tampines Central CC: Flying TWO national flags upside down is 'unacceptable' STOMPer Chris finds it completely intolerable that not one, but two National flags have been hung upside down outside this building in Tampines. The STOMPer writes: "This is my country, this is my flag? "Some mistakes are just not acceptable. "The word is RESPECT! "What's worse, this is the Community Complex - they should know how to display the flag. "Shame on them for setting a bad example for residents on displaying their flags wrongly during our National Day celebration. "Enough is enough."
  5. Just came pass by Seletar dam and there was an accident. A red kia, silver hatch back upside down facing the sea and mitsubishi lancer (should be stationary, as rear right side doors damage by the hatch back). Haiz, couldn't take pic as i can't stop on the road... Basically can't drive into Seletar dam from Yishun Ave 1.

  7. I have seen quite a few cars on the road with the p-plates placed upside down. I think it was done deliberately as both the front and back plates were placed the same (wrong)way. What are the drivers trying to show? What will be the penalty if stopped by police? Comments anyone?
  8. Honda gets to release a new model...
