The magnetic sunroof - The latest in totally useless car accessories
Rigval posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
While browsing online I recently came across this contraption that supposedly adds a dash of style to the roof of any type of car (with a steel roof). I present to you the magnetic sunroof. This has to be at the top of the list of totally useless car accessories, just below the fake rear window wiper and the world famous 'Type-R' sticker. It comes in roll up form like a carpet. Or like tinting film. You take it out, unfurl it on the roof of your sunroof-less car and wallah! You have an instant sunroof without cutting a hole through the roof of your car. Now why in heaven's sake would anyone want to put something totally useless on one's car? It's not as if this is like a Road Runner cartoon where the road runner can actually run through a black hole painted on by Willy E Coyote. As if you can put your head through or tilt it up to let air in. It is totally useless. Sometimes people will try to do anything for a quick buck. Sometimes people will think that buying, installing or using such an accessory is actually good, useful, adds style, adds class, adds horsepower or makes the car look like a million dollars. "A vehicle just looks better with a sunroof" says one of these ads. I have to say that a vehicle looks better with a REAL sunroof. If you readers know of anyone using one of these, please, for the sake of all that's holy tell them to remove the item immediately from the roofs of their cars. I beg of you.- 5 comments

The scariest BMW 1 Series coupe on earth lives in Singapore
Rigval posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
This must be the most famous BMW 1 Series M coupe (or bodykitted 1 Series Coupe) in the world today. The reason I am stating so is that it has been featured in not one, not two but about five automotive forums, blogs and websites. The thing that makes it a worthwhile feature on Myautoblog.org is the fact that this ultra scary, ugly or ___________ (fill in the blank with what you think it is) BMW 1 Series coupe is that is hails from good ol' Singapore. So far this 1 Series coupe has made its appearance on worldcarfans.com, teamspeed.com, bmwblog.com, whatadrive.blogspot.com, bmwforum malaysia and facebook appearances. Could this monster be a viral phenomenon or an internet hit? Does anyone over in Mycarforum's forums know the chap who owns this beastly, ghastly toothpaste white 1 Series coupe? If you do, keep the information to yourself. I rather admire his masterpiece from afar. Where did he get his inspiration from? The different coloured M power homage rims front and rear, the liquidpaper white-out head lights and tail lights and that roof spoiler from a 1990s Ford Escort Cosworth must have been concocted after one of those weekly beer sessions coupled with prescription drugs and slightly dubious a.k.a very illegal substances to get a little tipsy. Are those light mods even legal in the first place? I know I am being a little extreme. But I honestly cannot help it. But let's look on the bright side. This car has made the Singapore tuning scene famous. Or totally infamous. source: teamspeed via worldcarfans via whatadrive- 6 comments

For some, a W221 Mercedes Benz S-Class is the epitome of luxurious transport and it is used mainly by the captains of the industry as a means to comfortably ferry them from one power meeting to another. Of course at the other end of the same playing field are pop stars, rap artists, premier league footballers, movie stars, the Russian mafia, Yakuzas that can actually afford such a car but think that it looks too sedate for them. For them you bring in people like Japanese tuning firm Wald so that they can make the car have more street cred. This basically means lots more of the motorsport look by adding diffusers and spoilers as well as those big steam roller sized wheels which have rubber band tires with extremely stiff ride wrecking sidewalls to the car coupled with an extremely lowered ride height, either from stiffer springs or an adjustment towards the air suspension (neither of which benefits ride comfort too). But boy does the W211 S-Class look good. A front bumper/spoiler setup that looks like it came from a Brabus CLS with daytime running LEDs and side slits, different front fenders with slits behind the front wheels, fat side skirts and that rear bumper/diffuser with slits at each side complete with...wait...the usual quad tail exhaust set up that seems to be the norm with all of these performance tuners. The only difference is the quad pipes are oval and look like they

And now for something totally indecent. The Gemballa Ferrari Enzo MIG-U1
Rigval posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
[extract] Lets look at something which will cost a lot more than a Saab, look more outrageous than a Saab and completely sell all of its 25 allocated production units within a few months, which I suppose is the same amount Saab sells in Singapore in the same time frame. The Gemballa MIG-U1 Enzo. You would be buying a car that basically destroys the donor Ferrari Enzo by adding wide arches and wider tracks (body kit and rims, a body kit & roof scoop included), red quilted interior (I like), 40 extra horsepower
