I'm using the Cleanmate QQ-2 robot vacuum cleaner.

No need to do anything, just let it run ard the area u want n it will return to its home base n recharge. Its a made in China product. A cheaper version of I-robot. Got it from OG at S$368 in December 2006. Very satisfied. Clearing the dust container is easy n juz run the filters thru water. http://www.infinuvo.com/

U may wana have a look at the I-robot. My fren got the scrooba which mops the place as it vacuums. http://www.irobot.com.sg/hr.aspx

Turbocharged

Try Electrolux' Trilobite Generation 2. I have it. Just turn on, select program and start time and leave the house and it will clean up the house automatically. Can't get any better than that.

i also got karcher steamer. now use less than 5 times a year!

anybody wants to buy? 50% off current selling price.

I would suggest the vacuum using the water as traps. This will in fact prevent "spillage"

It traps dusts and dirt better then any bags. Just pour it away. Also, it works wonders on carpets..etc.

For me, I don't even mop my place. I use a Karcher Steamer instead to clean the house. Super duper good. Clean, no chemical. Cleans and kills mites and other contaminants.

Can also doubly as a good steam iron and glass/window cleaner as well.

Great for toilets, kitchen (superb on oily surfaces), carpets and upholsteries.

So she demo how the vacuum can suck up so much dustmites from the mattress, I thought it must have been tampered with coz before that I used to vacuum regularly and didn't see so much dirty stuff in my vacuum, btw mine is using water filtration that is more powerful at the fraction of their price. For goodness sake, it costs more than $3k for a simple set. I think the only spare part I need is one nozzle with roller to make my work easier.

was also skeptical when i bought a similar vacuum cleaner "Delphin"...

but when i vacuumed it myself, there were still dustmites being sucked - only after a few times was the water cleaner...

How much did you pay for Delphin vacuum cleaner?

How often do you need to vacuum the dustmites? Do you need to remove the bedsheets to do it? Because for the Rainbow demo, she vacuum a thich layer of 'white powder feathery substances' over a layer of bedsheets, but the suction power is only ~800w? I wonder whether that is dustmites or the fabrics from my bedsheets or mattress? Will my bedsheet or mattress get lighter the more I vacuum them. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Wow.. amazing with the QQ-2! thumbsup.gif How much u pay for it??

Two days ago, I bought the Straaten Robovac SRV3300 at $179 (after discount) at Harbor Front BIG. It sounds like some western brand however made in China. It comes with the actual cleaning unit (4 inch tall), docking station (auto return when low on batt or when you press RETURN), remote control, sensor (mount it at entrances without door or areas you do not want the Robovac to enter, very useful in my case).

Before I actually went hunting for a robotic vaccum cleaner, I been reading reviews, comments and recommendations online. There are Karcher, LG, iRobot, Infinuvo etc. Then, there is the Straaten; very bad reviews, but the price tag of $199 draws me down to take a look.

I found the Straaten a very fantastic product for its price. The demo was good at Big. The more important thing is, it worked very well in my house. It picked up all the hair, dust and dirt underneath my bed (where normally my standard vaccum cleaner and mop cannot reach). I did not even have to do anything and it just finish the task for me. Yesterday, I left the Straaten on when I left the house, I came back to a clean house with plenty of hair and dirt inside of the vaccum.

The same evening (yesterday), I went back to BIG and got two more. The promotion of $179 has finished, however you can always tell them you are repeat customers and they might be able do it at the discounted price, or else you just hav to pay $199 now.

Err... regarding all the negative comments of the Straaten by forumers (whom I believe do not owe the Straaten), they cannot compare a $199 product to a $2300 one right? Of course, if you are willing to spend $700, $1000 or even $2300, the other brands might really be better for you.

IMHO hor

I am also using Straaten Robovac SRV3300..... [thumbsup]

I bought mine during the 1hr sale at $159, use it for 1 day, it spoil (sensors could not detect cliff), I bought it back to exchange for a new one, till now, almost 3 months and still going strong. Only thing is that the working life is only 45 mins compared to iRobot of 2 hrs. But for the price of below $200 it is [thumbsup] .

Weekly, I will take out everything to clean and therefore maintain its cleaning efficiency.

iRobot with similar function is at $878 [sweatdrop] and looking at the base on irobot, the cleaning seems complex.
