i agree. the previous odyssey filled a very unique void, premium MPV with wagon set-up (no sliding doors). it's positioned higher than wish and grandis.

now it fights in the same bracket as estima, and will almost surely lose to it because of pricing.

yeah i liked odyssey cos it's more car like.

is this a CVT gearbox? cos previa/estima is cvt.

it may become a Previa fighter..

I think I wait for Mazda to come up with new Mazda 5 and then compare.

Mazda 5 and Odyssey are 2 different segment cars...the Mazda 8 will be the competitor for Odyssey...specs and price-wise...

The cars brought in by dealer for Honda have relatively disappointing specs.. for the current odessey, paying $190k for a car that comes with 2 airbags is a sad thing. If I'm ferrying 5 to 7 family .members on constant basis, I will not buy any 180k car that comes with only 2 airbags.

My friend bought a PI estima, and can custom install total 9 airbags, and it's cheaper than the odessey..

Why no one talk about Ford MPV S-max Turbo. Is also cheaper isn't good?

Because the agent is not interested in selling....

... I like S-Max. Just a bit over price.

Last time I bought Odyssey was due to the distinctive low body and sedan like drive but offer practical space and comfort.

This new design that follow the US model let Odyssey lose it uniqueness in the MPV market IMHO.

sliding doors finally

Damn Right ... MPV with no sliding doors are terrible for passengers to alight when you cannot fully open the doors ...

It has everything that I want and need. It's a full sized MPV, with sliding doors, push start, keyless entry, Japanese car (which in my opinion is more reliable and easier to maintain compared to a continental make). The cloest to my requirements is the Estima, but that really drives like a lorry. I hope this new odyssey is as nice to drive as the current model, which drives like a normal saloon.
