Three very different men of different ages decide on their favourite BMWs to suit their backgrounds and lifestyles. What are the BMWs that they’ve picked   BMW’s ‘Power of Choice’ strategy offers customers the opportunity to choose the powertrain of their choice, from petrol-powered BMWs to plug-in hybrid or fully electric ones.   For those who still prefer internal combustion engines, BMW’s wide range of models means that we get to pick the best car to suit our needs.

3 Cylinder Volkswagen Polo gets more miles than that Toyota hybrid

Nowadays is either Hybrids or Diesels and Volkswagen, our friendly neighborhood car manufacturer, has taken economy and green a small step further by launching the latest Polo Bluemotion TDI. The small step taken is the fact that it has chopped off one cylinder from the four cylinder diesel and it is only 1.2 liters in size. This was recently paraded recently at the 31st International Vienna Motor Symposium.   1.2liters, diesel, a turbo and three cylinders makes 74bhp and about 180Nm at 2,00

Cyclists are a menace on our roads and will continue to be one. Nuff said. It is almost impossible for cyclists and motorists to co-exist and share our roads safely. Here's why: What Happened? 3 Clowns clad in their spandex cycling attire decided to tailgate and draft behind a freight truck to reduce their drag and achieve enhanced aerodynamics on West Coast Highway. Yes, you read that right - BEHIND A FREIGHT TRUCK. And not that it changes anything, but the th

2030 might be the end of the world for car enthusiasts and the sports cars they love

JDM, Euro and Exotic sports cars    For the uninitiated, sports cars consist of 3 main categories: JDM, Euro, and Exotic. These sports cars come in a bunch of varying specifications. Let me give you some examples.     The Renault Megane RS is a 4-cylinder turbocharged, manual, front-wheel-drive Euro sports car.    Likewise, the Mclaren 720S is a V8 twin-turbocharged, automatic, rear-wheel-drive exotic sports car.    Last but not least, we have the iconic JDM stree

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is here, and we've only had to wait a day to see how you can modify it with official Mopar parts. Some of the parts that will be available were already fitted to one of the Gladiators on the floor at the L.A. Auto Show. Jeep Wrangler owners aren't shy at modifying their beasts, and we can probably expect the same amount of enthusiasm from those who own the Gladiator as well.   Many of the Mopar parts will be available right as the Gladiator goes on sale. Let's hope the

2019 Ford F-150 Raptor to get off-road cruise control

Ford has updated the current Ford F-150 Raptor with a few changes. One of the more interesting ones is the new Trail Control.   Marketed as a cruise control for off-road driving, the system can be used at speeds between 2-32km/h, and can be operated in all four-wheel drive modes that the truck has.   Much like a normal cruise control, it basically takes care of the throttle and braking while the driver does the steering.   However, unlike a normal car's cruise control, the system can also

2018 Honda Civic Type R missed out on auto gearbox due to weight concerns

The 2018 Honda Civic Type R hatch will be offered solely with a six-speed manual transmission because an auto would have mucked up the weight balance of the car.   That’s according to Yuji Matsumochi, assistant large project leader for the 10th-generation Civic powertrain at Honda Japan.   Matsumochi admitted that the brand looked into a solution to appeal to a broader range of buyers – either with a conventional automatic, or a dual-clutch transmission – but the impact would have been too g

2016 Audi A4 is larger and lighter.

The 2016 Audi A4 arrives with a bang, but no surprises. We say that because the formula for creating the new A4 is one we know all too well. Make it larger, add a bunch of content, reduce weight, and improve both power and efficiency. It's a recipe for success, and this fifth-generation A4 looks to be a solid contender against its chief rivals, the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.   The shape hasn't changed; it's immediately recognizable as an A4. Instead, this new model updates that
