AGIP engine oil

Just replaced Prestone 10W 40 wif M1 5W 30 2 days back, quite disappointed wif the results. Since i got lobang for AGIP oil, so thinking of giving it a try. Anyone tried it? HOw's the performance?

I see you are driving a Peugeot. European makes should go and use 5W40 for best results. Forget M1. You should be using cxxxxxe or the famed Castrol SLX-A3. 10W40 can also use but what 10W40 can beat cxxxxxe in price? Exception could be GME cars. They can use down to 5W30.

hmm but the car manual recommended 5W-30 too (maybe its for europe?). Anyway, has anybody tried AGIP SINT EVOLUTION 5W-40 or SINT 2000 10W-40?

 

 

Btw, so far i think Prestone is so much better den Shell helix ultra for my car.

If they recommend 5W30, there shouldn't be any problems when you use it. All this drop in FC and all that could very well be a change in your driving cconditions or that the engine might be adapting to the friction it is freed from or maybe your foot hasn't gotten used to it.

Don't even dare to try since this engine oil is new in the market and their office or workshop is near to my work place though. I would rather go for those reputable engine oil like RedLine or Mobil instead. Too many brands of engine oil in the market already.

There is oil and there is marketing.

 

Its great people are spending a lot on oil

Yes there are a lot of recyclyer oil company selling recycle oil as virgin oil and a lot of customer are not aware of it as the shop selling it is also not aware of it.

I heard of AGIP long before Redline and the other brands. But of course the quality of each different oil don't just depend on reputation of the brand.

AGIP has been around for over 80yrs liao. IIRC they sponsored Ferrari (and some other teams too but it was consistently Ferrari) from the 1970's to the 1990's when they stopped sponsoring. They've kind of dropped off the radar in the car scene since then, but they are still very well known in m/cycle lubricants thanks to Aprilia.
