Spacio1 Neutral Newbie February 16, 2006 Share February 16, 2006 My friend is looking to buy one.. just wondering if this price is worth? OMV 35-40k Basic model doesn't come with Mark Levinson System Instead it's a pioneer 13 speakers system ..no memory seat.. no rain sensor..no obstacle sensor(whatever that means) etc.. ↡ Advertisement
Fluffy Clutched February 16, 2006 Share February 16, 2006 why not consider a Toyota Mark X, with the 2.5L V6 at $92k immediate registration? http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/10047.php unless you really really want that "L" on the front grill lah. Spacio1 Neutral Newbie February 16, 2006 Author Share February 16, 2006 thanks Did consider that but are they the same? I think the engine is the same but not sure about the transmission and other fittings..
Toledosun Neutral Newbie February 16, 2006 Share February 16, 2006 guess it's what you're looking for. That's the price range for a bemmer 320. If you look at all the car magazines, they were pitting the IS250 against the beemer 325 and it lost. Over here, its price is the same as the beemer 320 so it may be a closer toss up between the two. Porker Turbocharged February 16, 2006 Share February 16, 2006 Not worth. Markup is $16,000 thereabouts if the OMV is $40,000. Plus its a Lexus! Geez LOL... just kidding
Porker Turbocharged February 16, 2006 Share February 16, 2006 320i will lose out to the IS250 big time. But the handling of the E90 is beautiful.
Kelpie 2nd Gear February 16, 2006 Share February 16, 2006 1. Many Conti choices at 126K! Afterall it is still a Toyota. 2. Well, there are many others that want Japanese cars for ease of future maintenance. Regards,
Qwert Clutched February 16, 2006 Share February 16, 2006 I think it is a little high, though it is 2.5L....would go for the Mark X instead...
W210k 1st Gear February 16, 2006 Share February 16, 2006 (edited) Compared to the outgoing IS200, the new IS250 now comes with (actually why I don't really like the new IS250 and why BM was not able to convince me to switch): - V6 , no longer I6 - All aluminium engine , no longer cast iron block - Electric power steering , no longer hydraulic - Only 1 set double wishbones in front , no longer double wishbones front and rear BUT From UK reviews, it handles quite close to the E90 325i on the wet when tested. The E90 320i is a poor comparison. No fight at all. 4-pot, 16v 150 BHP versus 6-pot, 24v 210 BHP. No way. Only pricing is close ... and so are the markup for both cars! Porker Turbocharged February 16, 2006 Share February 16, 2006 Inline 6 is the best! Inherently balanced with no need for balancer shafts
W210k 1st Gear February 16, 2006 Share February 16, 2006 yah you said it man ... BMWs and the older Lexus with IL-6 engines are the most inherently balanced

W210k 1st Gear February 16, 2006 Share February 16, 2006 Porsche at one time, used to make Flat-8 engines for their racing models. That one super-smooth too. Now all Porches run on Flat-6 ... good too!
Porker Turbocharged February 16, 2006 Share February 16, 2006 Yeah flats are all inherently balanced. Ah Porsche.... got to drive it for the very first time in my life a few weeks back.... Wooooooooo....
