95 is good enough IMO if you're driving a normal NA car. 98 is a waste of money

driving a FL vios, manual... was cruising around for the past few days.. been quite heavy footed...as in rev and travelling at 90+ to 100km, when i see slow moving vehicle, i just vrroom and cut them...... today went to pump again... wow

 

16.1km/l.. Imagine if i adopt conservative driving.... wee. wee...

dunno those fuel economizer works or not...

 

Your right leg is your fuel economizer.

 

Some fuel additive for upper cylinder lub might work, but otherwise, most are snake oil.

2T EO works (it is mixed with petrol in 2 stroke engines for lubrication), but not sure if your CAT, injector and spark plugs will get foul up for modern 4T EFI engines. Make sure u experiment bit by bit first (if you wanna try).

haha..i think the best is still the right leg...I've started to be light footed and my mileage increased from 12km/l to 14.5km/l....its really self discipline!

If you are FC conscious, don't get a Mazda 3.

Most family sedan production cars, minimum octane is 91... but even manufactures recommend 95...

 

98 is more for high performance cars and will have no better effect then 95 if your car doesnt require it.

 

i saw a few test on normal cars, stating 95 gave more milage than 98...

 

using too low octane will cause knocking which is harmful to your car. but modern engines can sense it and adjust the ignition timing accordingly... but then no more fuel savings unless 92 is really much cheaper...
