maybe to each his own..... coz i really felt a little less confident after removing my aftermarket rotors and swtiched back to my original ones b4 handing over the car. My braking distance, was extended slightly with the stock rotors.(using same wheels)

true, the holes and slits provide cooling effects, but we can't discount that they also provide additional friction points when the pads bite onto them.

the last time i change tires was when i was new & kuku and bouhgt a second hand car from a lying S.O.B. used car dealer and the tires were already bloated, but being new driver, was not aware.

so brought the almost 2 yr old car to the distributor and told them the car felt wobbly and then the mech found out the front tire was already bloated and advised my to get them changed. So after that, i upsized to 15" rims and got Falken 326 tires to match.

i have got no idea at all..... the mech just told me the wobbling is due to the side of the tire being bloated and also showed me the part where it felt like a lump..... then advised me to get it changed OUTSIDE, citing that it was more ex$ to do it with them, might as well do it outside with more choices too.

When the tyres can no longer take corners like they used to... sweatdrop.gif My last set (Michelin Precedas II) was changed at 45K with 35% thread left.) My current set (Goodyear Eagle F1s) is doing fine at 8K. thumbsup.gif

The reason it was extended was because the surface of the disc wasnt a mirror image of the surface of the pad. Give the pad a few hundred kms to bed in and you'll notice that braking will improve.

then it shd not be a problem. but i have heard many complaints abt wet grip with aspec DBs and putting the tyres in storage wun help. so do drive carefully [nod]

but i do know tt my rear tyres which are damn old but have lots of thread have really shitty grip. rubber harden liao. for normal driving still ok but if i push the van on a wet day.. [dizzy][sly]

A little friendly advice, I suggest you rotate your back tyres to the front if possible. In normal driving there's not much difference, but in emergencies your handling will be put to the test and if your back tyres are more worn than your front tyres, you could fishtail or spin. Especially in a van or other high CG vehicle, spin can lead to rollover.

my situation is kind of interesting. My front tyres are newer but they are narrower. I wanted the narrower tyres behind so tt i could try drifting. but the tyre shop guy said to use narrower tyres in front, presumably for the reasons u said.

i'm running 185 tyres behind and 155 in front. I usually understeer on a dry road but i did spin once in the wet. but then again, tt cud have been due to my hitting the brakes mid-corner, and now i have learnt first hand why i shd not do that!!! [sweatdrop]

i will just wait for my front tyres to wear til a point when they need to be changed, then change all 4 tyres. even though i forsee that my rear tyres will still have plenty of thread then.
