Kax2 Neutral Newbie July 6, 2006 Share July 6, 2006 You should compare the older corolla model not the altis model since corolla and the sunny are introduced within 2003-2005 period. The altis has a lower ps due to emission standards introduced. ↡ Advertisement
Kax2 Neutral Newbie July 6, 2006 Share July 6, 2006 1100kg shd be more towards the light side... Comparing the 1.6L category for Kerb Weight, Honda Civic ES5 is the heaviest at 1160Kg, Altis at 1115Kg and Sunny at 1085Kg. Regards, That's kerb weight not gross weight ...... Sunray Neutral Newbie July 7, 2006 Share July 7, 2006 To be precise, sunny EX is 1,110kg. Mine you, the info is for the latest FL sunny. Got it from nissan website. Don't tell me that the info from its website is incorrect? If it's really incorrect, I'll be very much delighted to bang table at them. My FL sunny auto can get 12km/l on average. Sunny has 110 bhp for your info.
Kax2 Neutral Newbie July 7, 2006 Share July 7, 2006 Ok 106 ps was mistake on my part but you are comparing the entry level sunny 1100. Sunny Le is 1145kg. EX probably has 14 inch rims, thus lighter weight and more fuel effiecient.
Kelpie 2nd Gear July 7, 2006 Share July 7, 2006 To be precise, sunny EX is 1,110kg. Mine you, the info is for the latest FL sunny. Got it from nissan website. Sunny has 110 bhp for your info. Even for 1,100Kg this already dispel the misunderstanding that Sunny is overweight. In fact, it is one of the lightest. Civic is the heaviest which is something that not many know. This is because, the basic thought has always been if a car is fast, it has to be lighter in weight. Weixiang_06 Clutched July 7, 2006 Share July 7, 2006 my vios being a 1.5l car... compared to a nissan 1.6l car Vios had 109bhp for your info.. with a 0-100km/l timing of 9.8s for manual transmission.. weight is 940kg for manual. shiok! i love manual man! been driving manual for 3++ years.. last time drive nissan manual, not shiok.. now drive toyota manual, shiok shiok!! FC abuot 15+km/l... and my ride mileage is only 5.5k, still on mineral.... changing to synthetic at 10k... then u think my future FC will be what? 16-17km/l shiok man! VVT-i, i love you... you are fuel efficient..
Sunray Neutral Newbie July 7, 2006 Share July 7, 2006 Everyone make mistakes but not checking info properly is a grave mistake. Be it EX, SS or LE, sunny is on 15" rims. Actually FC depends on how people drives, carrying loads, peak or off-peak hours and the routes taken.
Quantum 5th Gear July 7, 2006 Share July 7, 2006 Don't always think light is good thing for car, except FC and pickup nothing is good for light light car, especially safey and stability need weight
Sunray Neutral Newbie July 7, 2006 Share July 7, 2006 It's common sense that 1.5L performs better than 1.6L in terms of FC. It's also common sense that MT has better fuel efficient than AT. Not everyone goes for the best FC car due to some reasons or another. If not, jazz, city and vios will be flooding the roads here.
Sunray Neutral Newbie July 7, 2006 Share July 7, 2006 If you try to travel > 120km/h for a vios, you'll know what's the "advantage" of a feather light car?
