Carstyle Neutral Newbie July 25, 2006 Share July 25, 2006 I think it's produced by Nankang. Is it cheaper than Federal?
Rickyokc Neutral Newbie July 25, 2006 Share July 25, 2006 if its produce by nankang i would not expect much out of it .except cheap price.

Carstyle Neutral Newbie July 25, 2006 Share July 25, 2006 You can expect it to perform reasonably well, though.
Rickyokc Neutral Newbie July 25, 2006 Share July 25, 2006 i hv doubt abt 2nd brand of manufacturer. just look at b'stone stable i dont see the chance of firestone better than b'stone comparing apple to apple by model.same goes to all manufacturer . Aveolution Neutral Newbie July 25, 2006 Author Share July 25, 2006 dun know leh but according to my friend "Sonar" cheapest therefore i want to know any side effect? my friend just installed so no feedback yet.
Elfenstar 3rd Gear July 26, 2006 Share July 26, 2006 Sonar is a rebadged nankang. They're quite crap, but if you get the NS2, then you should be fine for daily driving though a lil noisy. IMHO your friend should have paid a lil more for the sumitomo HTR200's that they sell. Btw, did you really need to put a pic of H tyres with your post since it the tyre we're talking abt?? Carstyle Neutral Newbie July 26, 2006 Share July 26, 2006 It's quite a popular budget tyre overseas. Sold even in Japan.
Newbie2006 Neutral Newbie August 1, 2006 Share August 1, 2006 Hi Elfenstar, Does Sumitomo HTR200 come in 205/45/R16, do you know? Will be changing my stock tyres and to get 16" rim + tyres. I am not sure which tyre to go for Or any recommendation? thanks,
Elfenstar 3rd Gear August 1, 2006 Share August 1, 2006 I dunno abt that size. i'm guessing it would come in that size but its best you check with H tyre (only place in sg that i know sells it). What are your preferences in tyre choice anyway. say you have 10 points and need to split it up according to 1)dry performance 2)wet performance 3)aquaplanning resistance 4)noise 5)comfort 6)tyre life it would be easier for us to give u a reccomendation know what you prefer in your tyre. Saggi 1st Gear August 2, 2006 Share August 2, 2006 why dun get GR 80 or Michelle energy , abit cosy but since you upgrade to sport rim... why not upgrade to better tyres ?/

Elfenstar 3rd Gear August 2, 2006 Share August 2, 2006 (edited) runway tyres??? as in plane tyres???? anyway i would rank the htr200s over the mich engergy's anyday!!! I rank them over falkens 326 in every department, and with the exception of noise and wear, it would be equal or better than the pirelli p6000's in every other dept. Never used the GR80's but i suspect the 200's they would probably be similar if not better in grip than them. I wouldnt expect less of a tyre that was made by dunlop japan in japan And they're not 2nd tier either, as sumitomo is a major shareholder in dunlop japan rather than the other way round for 2nd tier tyres. Xiaogary Neutral Newbie August 2, 2006 Share August 2, 2006 (edited) I heard of it once only. Justin from pxx xxxg offered it to me while I change my wheels on a Sunday. My size very difficult to find, wanted to get Falken, but he sold last set off in the morning. So, he offered me this brand which I never heard of. I of course dont dare to buy. I got Firenza in the end when his mum offered to change me me the next day once falken arrive. Super good service I feel. But after driving witht the Firenza ST-03 for a few trip, find its ok, quite quiet and good grip, so stayed with it and didnt bother to go back and change. I dont like to be known as a fussy or troublesome customer. Haha... Plus I think its quite difficult for Auntie to sell the Firenza in future if I changed to falken, so might as well do her a favour and use the Firenza. Anyway tyres are wear and tear items and very soon, I will have the chance to change to Falken already. Hope they give me a better offer by then. These are my wheels...hehe. Thanks, Elfenstar.... I am not sure if above in blue are realistic or not. Basically safety and comfort is more important over noise and tyre life. Thanks once again.
