Eavr4 Neutral Newbie August 31, 2006 Share August 31, 2006 Understand the problem I get tat quite abit too esp. from Altis/G9 and Wish...really high. My defence... 1) Sunblinds - electric ones on my sedans 2) Curtains - those that is semi-see-thru' ones 3) Auto-dimming mirrors 4) Tinted windows Unfortunately I suffer from "momentary blindness" should I get glares (I used to have a stamp on my driving license that I need appropriate eyewear for it) dunno wy the new ID license its not indicated...hehehe (With that it actually allows me to wear "colored" glasses at night. Quantum 5th Gear August 31, 2006 Share August 31, 2006 Hi guys, Just wonder, what is the penalty if one is caught with HID lights? Be it during inspection or ROV checks. Noticed an increasing number of motorists are using aftermarket conversion kits and its really blinding. Ever saw a Toyota Wish with HID main and fog lamps ... penalty , no lah, if got penalty why Honda Civic FD and Honda Odyssey still using, and KM uses HID as a promotion and even as freebie
Tanjkp Clutched August 31, 2006 Share August 31, 2006 Even out of tune original headlight that indicate fail during car inspection still consider "pass". So how to impose penalty on HID ?
Mroonws Clutched August 31, 2006 Share August 31, 2006 True. Probably i was not precise enough. Im fine with factory fitted HID eg. Evos, 7series etc. THey look really great and dont affect road safety. But problem lies with many other which has over-density HID. Recently juz encountered a few MPVs with HID so strong that u had to keep ur eyes off the back mirror. Yes, Agree with you. Some of these people are really irritating. Although they might look nice, but that will affect those people infront... I'm sure nobody likes to get shined by the vehicle behind right... So, just to be fair, those people who got their Aftermarket HIDs install, get them adjusted so they will not affect the people infront... Even some people who don't have the HIDs, still on their high beams, think singapore road very dark...??? sometimes really feel like

Atlantis_boi Clutched August 31, 2006 Share August 31, 2006 (edited) SG roads is so bright. Unless one travels on NSH, I wonder why the need of HIDs. Edited August 31, 2006 by Atlantis_boi
Ed520 Neutral Newbie August 31, 2006 Share August 31, 2006 wonder whether anyone has installed aftermarket HID lights and passed their inspection!
King 1st Gear August 31, 2006 Share August 31, 2006 sorry.. but i think otherwise.. the whole darn singapore is overly lit. wasting electricity. I have nothing against HIDs but just that in order to show off their HIDs the stupid drivers aim their lamps up afraid that ppl don't know they have HIDs installed. If the lamps were properly adjust and installed I don't see it as a problem correct installation is beri important...

Fortress Clutched August 31, 2006 Share August 31, 2006 Understand that headlight brightness/angle are not part of the passing criteria in Singapore, although it is illegal to have. But the streets of Singapore are well lited, and it is extremely uncomfortable when a car at the opposite has an HID light.
Vtim 3rd Gear August 31, 2006 Share August 31, 2006 I think those with Projection beam headlights will have less of the 'out of Focus' problem then those with Reflextive headlights
