Viksim Neutral Newbie November 27, 2006 Share November 27, 2006 (edited) well...i'm waiting for the asian version axio too which by the time 2008, my current ride will be 5yrs old..just nice!! Anyway, i've heard that the G10(asian market)will be like somehow resemble a 2007 facelifted CAMRY (more like a little brother)as shown in the china auto show?? Anyone to verify?? Carlover76 Neutral Newbie December 4, 2006 Share December 4, 2006 (edited) I saw the Axio during the Big Boys Toy exhibition, interior still as plain as most japanese cars, only difference is the flat ground for the rear passengers. Basically the outlook still resembles the G9, just that it is not as fat and round as the G9, probably the longer version of G9, not much difference afterall. I notice that the ECU is located inside the engine bay, it is the same as the Kia Rio and this shows the Japanese is one step slower than the Korean. Mkl22 Supersonic January 8, 2007 Share January 8, 2007 Totally wrong. The G9 corollas in SG area all made in Japan. Only from the Corolla Altis then SG start to see it being made in Thailand. The G10 is Altis and G11 is Axios. you are totally totally wrong. 2000, G9 was launched in Japan. It reached our shores early 2001. late 2002, facelift for G9 released and it reached our shores too. late 2003, another facelift was launched but BM decided not to import the JDM G9 and started imports from THAILAND which also manufactures the G9 (same platform, interior, just a different exterior styling with a different name- corolla ALTIS). when we started getting the altis, it wasn't exactly and all new model. it was just a facelifted thai G9. Thailand started manufacturing the G9 in 2001 and Malaysia started importing them too. so, at the present moment, Singapore have both the G9- altis and the G10- axio on sale. G10 is through PI while G9 is from BM. why does BM still sell the G9? this is because production for new models usually start later in Thailand. The G10 from Thailand is expected to arrive late next year or early 2008 (because the Thais would need time to tweak the original design and study the car to see what changes neeed to be made to suit the asian market). Borneo cannot decide not to import la. Its the principal Toyota that decides. BM is only a country agent, they have a small say. but ultimately its toyota that decides. Hiphiphoray 6th Gear January 11, 2007 Share January 11, 2007 Any news that BM is importing Axio to Spore ?????? I just sat in one at a roadshow. Quite a number of ppl was viewing this car. Liuhao Neutral Newbie February 7, 2007 Share February 7, 2007 i dun think BM will import Axio. Axio is JDM G10 corolla made in japan. there will be a Thai made G10 which looks and feels slightly different (should be more or less like china corolla which a bit likes mini-Camry). it may be named differently as well. dun think it will be called Axio. BM most likely will import Thai made G10 from late 07.
Panalogic Neutral Newbie February 12, 2007 Share February 12, 2007 hey guys... just wanted to share that i ordered the car already.... All i can say is, go for the test drive.... we were skeptical at first but after me and my father, who drives a 3L european car, tried it.... We booked it straightaway :) I got the 1.5 L which has 18.2 L. The interior is also v classy, it doesn't have that disgusting wood trim like the altis... In fact it comes with this optional 6.3 " LCD which i got and it couples up with a dvd player... hehe... really looking forward to driving it although the PI is giving a bit of a headache :)
Axeman24 2nd Gear February 13, 2007 Share February 13, 2007 Hi bro how much did you buy the Aixo for and when are you getting the car? So how much did you need to top up for the leather seats. I'm sure the PI does not include that in.
Quantum 5th Gear February 13, 2007 Author Share February 13, 2007 too bad from BM, they just launched altis and vios facelift last year, normally each facelift life cycle is 2 years, so earliest axio in BM will be early of 2008
