Neutral Newbie
bus captain monthly income how can compare to cab driver [:/]

$1500-- vs $3000++ [scholar]

Hmm... I did a quick back-of-the-envelope:

Target: $3000 / mth

Assume:

Days of work per month: 30 days

Hours of work per day: 12 hrs

Daily rental: $90

Petrol per day: $10

Passenger pays per trip: $15 (average out)

Computation:

Profit per day: $3000 / 30 = $100 per day

Gross per day: $100 + $90 (cover rental) + $10 (cover petrol) = $200

No. of passengers per day: $200/$15 = 13 (round down)

No. of passenger per hour = 13/12 = 1 (round down)

Conclusion:

He needs to pick up 1 passenger for every hour he is on the road.

Findings:

I guess $3000 /mth is possible, but a bit tight...

After owning a car, i find the noise in a moving taxi extremely un-bearable. Especially when taxi drivers often drag 2nd gear or 3rd gear.......damn bloody noisy. Not forgetting the vibratiing part.

For the price of taxi fares, its not value for money at all. [furious][furious][furious]

Recently took a cab from tampines to sembawang.....$19/-

interesting! Thought they are supposed to make a living, not to race. [laugh]

Sometimes feel they rev unnecessarily, esp from 1 traffic lite to another. I go slowly, yet end up meeting them again. Of course on expressway during off-peak, it's understandable.

gar gar tuah, any car also wu lat! But jiak yu lor! Like this, how to earn 3K? [laugh]

crown avg km/L is 10 across the board. try asking them.

even for those who drive like tortise slowly pickup slowly drive one. also 10 to 12.
