I do agree with u. Imagine we follow all the TP rules, i believe there will be minimal accidents.

It wont be smooth cos there will be kukus driving at 70km/h on lane 1, other kukus who swerve between lanes to satisfy their ego, and more kukus who keep stepping on brakes even though road in front is clear.

 

It will be smoother if they increase the limits to 110/120kmh so the faster moving cars wont clogged up the highway.

Then there are commercial vehicles who hog 2nd lane. Motorcyclists who ride so slowly on the 3rd lane that you wonder how they balance their motorcycles.

There will be a big jam. Just imagine, when a TP or police car is on the Expressway, jam will form behind already.

Nowadays I see lots of vans and pick ups travelling on the middle lane at 90-100kmh. Some big balls one even wack on the rightmost lane. Obey the speed limit? Yeah right..

 

Got once i saw this cement mixer type of truck overtaking me at 110kmh on the right lane.

traffic will not be smooth, because most of the idiots i see on the roads are people who

- don't signal and cut lanes

- drive with hi-beam/rear-fogs even in the day

- thinks they have night-vision

- does not slow down or take defensive roles before approaching a filter-in exit.

- abuse the brakes - be it tapping or inability to understand engine brake use.

- don't give way.

- deliberate speeding up when they see ahead cars coming into their lane

- abuse of horns

 

traveling the expressway will ALWAYS be stressful.

 

 

imagine if it's the death penalty for the above offenses, singapore don't need COE,ERP or whatever 3 letter acronym system to manage car congestion.

Yeah agree... tats why. Actually rules are laid out by TP, its that nobody wanna follow and in the end kena one another. If all follow every single one, i believe it will be extremely smooth

Don't think traffic will be smooth as that might lower the capacity of the expressway. Example, you just need one driver to stick to a specific speed and he will road hog i.e. in front all clear, behind a long chain of vehicles. Another example, when TP decides to travel at 60km/h on expressway during peak hour, you see all heavy vehicles keeping left at contstant speed which leaves a long queue of vehicle behind. If they keep at it, the whole expressway might just get stuck. On a 3 lane expressway, you just need 2 constant speed vehicle on lane 2 and 3 to jam up the entire expressway. I've seen this on at the beginning of BKE ( towards Woodlands ).
