  1. i bo liao notice something for some reason but long live SGCM/MCF!
  2. @kusje have spurred me thinking what exactly is a sports car? In today aspect, the line seems to be blurred out by quite a bit. So let's do a debate car by car. And we should start with the not here not there Honda Accord Euro R. From my understanding from Netcarshow.com. Honda produced 2 euro R variant, the CL7 and the CL1. I never include CL9 as it is the ang mo Acura version. Honda Accord EuroR The Honda Accord is an automobile manufactured by Honda, redesigned in 2003 and sold worldwide. Accords sold in Japan (and elsewhere in the world) vary greatly from the US models. In Japan, full-featured Accords are offered. Until 1997, the Accord bi-yearly facelift or four-year redesign was always released a year prior in Japan. Older generations of Accords such as the US 1990-1993 (4th Generation) was actually offered in years 1989-1992 in Japan, and 5th Generation from 1993-1996. Other differences were in features. The 1989-1992 (4th generation) offered in other countries received unheard of equipment for an Accord (until recently) such as a Navigation System, TV, mini-disc player, digital automatic climate control, traction control, Anti-Lock brakes, side-marker lights, heated mirrors, outside temperature gauge, an in-cabin air refiner, map lights, seat heaters, standard fog lamps, headlight washers, rear fog light, full-power seats, telescoping bumper pole, half-mast antenna switch. An Accord Si and Si-T model can also be found in some countries including Japan along with a "Euro R" trim in Europe. In 1998, a major redesign took place for the Accord for its sixth-generation, the largest Accord to date reverted back to its more conservative roots. The wagon was discontinued in North America but remained available elsewhere. Internationally, the Accord split into two distinct versions, one for North America, and another for sale worldwide. The models are often referred to as the Japanese and North American Accords. The larger North American model is based on the Japanese Honda Inspire, while Japanese Accord is sold in North America as the Acura TSX. The Accord was redesigned in 2003 without a size increase of a similar magnitude to the North American model. In comparison, clearly, the North American version is distinct from the worldwide model, being both larger and heftier. The F-series VTEC engines made its debut in the European and Japanese Accords, and the 90° C-series V6 engine was replaced by a more-compact 60° J-series unit for the US Accord. Honda offered the North American Accord in a number of Asian markets, with mixed sales. Both variants of the Accord are sold in Australia-the North American model and the worldwide model. The Japanese model offered a number of hi-tech features not seen elsewhere in the North American range, and minor adjustments to body styling. The Japanese Accord and Inspire also feature Honda's Intelligent Driver System or HIDS which feature safety enhancements such as the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and adaptive cruise So what you all think? Is Honda Accord Euro R a sport car? @chaosmyth @kusje @kdash
  3. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...mber_plate.html 2 different cars spotted with exactly the same number plate How is it possible that two different cars have exactly the same number plate, a STOMPer asks after spotting these vehicles parked side-by-side in her condominium carpark. This should not be possible both legally and logically, she says. The sender says: "This morning, I saw two different make cars bearing the same number plates parked in my estate. "Logically there shouldn't be two cars with exactly matching number plates. "They were parked inside our condominium's surface carpark lots so they should not be residents in our estate". ---------------------- Pending transfer of licence plates?

  5. and yet, still ongoing....WTF!!! Ionescu's hit-and-run trial looks set to come to a close BUCHAREST: The trial of Silviu Ionescu, the former Romanian Charge d'Affaires in Singapore, looks set to come to a close, according to court officials, one-and-a-half years since legal proceedings began. Ionescu is charged with killing a pedestrian and injuring several others in a hit-and-run case in Bukit Panjang on 15 December 2009. He is on trial for culpable manslaughter, fleeing the scene of an accident, and giving false statements. On Wednesday, Ionescu appeared in the Bucharest court at around 11am local time, accompanied by his lawyer, looking visibly older and thinner. He requested to admit another witness, which the court approved. The court also ruled that three other Singaporeans, who refused to give evidence, will now be required to testify. Another three witnesses will reappear in court via videolink to add to their earlier testimonies. A judicial experiment will now be conducted to determine if Ionescu could have been at Bukit Panjang at the time of the accident. This is the second such experiment. The first is a re-enactment of the incident. The conclusion of the first experiment will be announced in January. Singapore's Special Envoy to Romania, Mr Anil Kumar Nayar, attended Wednesday's hearing. Commenting after the proceedings, he said Singapore has Romania's assurance that the trial will be fair and transparent. He said: "It is a sad anniversary that we commemorate two years since the tragic accident, but, no matter how long the trial may take, we will follow this case closely. "We met the Romanian head of diplomacy, Theodor Baconski, in New York this September. He assured us that the trial will be fair and transparent". Ambassador Nayar was accompanied by a representative from the Attorney-General's Chambers of Singapore. The trial resumes on January 18, and is expected to end on January 20.

  10. Hi detailing Gurus, As above question, does SRP contain any abrasives? Will frequent application (lets say once every 2 weeks application) thin down the car paint? Have been reading this forum and recieved contridicting report, some say it contains abrasive while others say no, it is strictly a chemical polish. Currently I m using DG101, but the curioisty part of me would like to try SRP one day. What is the function of the microscopic "resin" found in it. Anyone?

  14. Quote:- Do The Lobo-Motion! Supermini buyers could soon have another car to choose from. The Hafei Lobo, a Chinese model styled by Italian legend Pininfarina (exclusive pictures in this week's issue of Auto Express) is set to go on sale in its home market early next year. Although it will be built in the Far East, the fact that the car is being developed by Lotus on UK roads suggests its creators have other markets in mind, including Britain. The five-door hatchback is a bold piece of design, and reveals just how serious China is in becoming a major player in the world car market. Key strengths of the all-new machine will include low running costs and rock-bottom prices, even when compared to Korean rivals such as Hyundai. To achieve this, equipment levels will be kept low, and the engine line-up will initially be limited to a 1.1-litre petrol unit, while the Lobo is expected to be priced around
