Dumber Neutral Newbie February 18, 2007 Author Share February 18, 2007 The one titled Balestier Road, 1981 is puzzling. Balestier Road is a main road and has always been a two-way road. That must be a side road. I have seen the Singapore Institute of Science and Sin Peng Bar in the early sixties. May be exist before the sixties. Balestier Road had seen fierce battles between the pro-communist and the riot police, day and night. We could see the battle from our verandah. I was happy to be curfewed from school. ******************************** you may be right..it looks like small lane but I'm not sure the road name. As for the Singapore Institute of Science and Sin peng Bar, they are still there right?I have seen Sin peng Bar still operating. By the way, right opposite the S'pore Institue of science across the road, it used to have some old houses but were torn down years ago.Do you know anything about those houses? Now is just a piece of empty land and the old folks home is just next to the empty land. I was told that house became vacant and many drug addicts were there taking drugs. ↡ Advertisement
Dumb 4th Gear February 18, 2007 Share February 18, 2007 In my time, right in front of the Singapore Institute of Science was a police station, then converted to a narcotic branch, then a restaurant then gone. I think the institute and bar still exist.
