Redstorm 1st Gear February 17, 2007 Share February 17, 2007 (edited) Sorry, not my original collection. I found them on a local website. Brought back fond memories of my birthplace. Not many ppl can claim that the house where they lived, let alone born, is still standing. In those days, many babies were delivered at home 'cos the only maternity hospital (KK) was packed. At one stage, it held the world record for being the hospital with the most babies born in one day. Edited February 17, 2007 by Redstorm

Genie47 1st Gear February 17, 2007 Share February 17, 2007 (edited) The first A&W was at Dunearn Rd next to the canal. It was a landmark there. Eating there is a treat. Only went there twice in my childhood. I was a tiny boy and I took the Papa Burger. I can still remember the aroma of the beef. It was real stuff. Not like today's McD's. Closest to that taste is BK now. Liat Towers McD's main draw is the shakes then. Now the shakes can compare to the shakes then. It was really thick and difficult to suck up. Redstorm 1st Gear February 17, 2007 Share February 17, 2007 I can still remember the exact spot of my house in Clarke St. Whenever I am at Clarke Quay area I always make it a point to take a look at my birthplace. Sometimes I wonder if I could approach the shop owner to seek permission to go upstairs to take a look.

Redstorm 1st Gear February 17, 2007 Share February 17, 2007 So you know the millionaire who built Liang Court near that street? The street, Tan Tye Place, is where Liang Court stands. The street is named after the millionaire Tan Tye whose inheritance case drags on for decades as it is a very complicated case. The case was mentioned in the New Paper a few years back.
