btw, how to tell if the wrx is illegally modded just by looking on the outside or hearing it? if the xos is not those extremely loud ones, there are LTA approved ones available too.

You have the right to let your vehicle be checked by any authorised government agent (i.e. ROV or Police-ANY) Beware if they want to play punk, there are vehicle confiscation laws under the road traffic act.

Since last yr already saw TP keep circling around carparks around my blks in West Coast area, in the morning especially. At first I thought someone escape from TP and hide around (evo or skyline too fast for them? ). But later, I realise this not the case. They came very very often. Think TP change their routine liao. Maybe they bio various Forums for various thread on various modification advice

 

This morning happen again.... I was driving out of carpark lot, TP while riding pass keep looking at me new Latio. Think he jealous . I was wondering Y he riding in the carpark when he should be out catching speedster......

 

mmm.. which part of west coast is that? Is it CP near the market opp Ginza?

I've never noticed any TPs in this area... thought finally there's a place with some peace. Maybe it's cause of mini races at the west coast highway area?

Many years ago, I was awaken on Sat early morning at around 2.00am by a group of about 10 EVOs at my house carpark. After about half hr, they decided to leave together and started to rev the engine all at once. Several cars in the carpark started to get their alarm sounded because of the vibration from the EVOs. This happens for about 3 weeks and after that never have that experience again. Maybe all kenna caught by LTA.

 

Also another time I was driving through the CTE tunnel and happended to have a convoy of Harleys riding through as well. My goodness, the sound is deafening, worse than thunder.

Convoy of Harleys I ever encountered before. Yep the roar is really deafening...worse than any modded car.

That veh owner prob did not pay rd tx and the ROV officer is there to prevent the owner from driving his veh away whilst waiting for tow truck to arrive to tow it away.

Never mod your vehicle illegally. Those with big loud exhaust ought to be caught as they are really a nuisance going around the vicinity. Same goes for modified motorcycles or harleys.

There is another loud bassy Harley Davidson that is doing the same damage also but this biker is more bo-chap and keeps setting off a few alarms every night.

Not true pal...Singapore version stock harley all have been tuned to a very nice soft rumble to conform to our regulations. If you can hear one with loud irritating rumble even not travelling fast, that is a modded one.

The difference is btw ROV and TP.

 

ROV is no different from LTA. They are under LTA, even though their bike has the "Police" word and they wear the same uniform as TP. That's bcoz they still have valid police powers which are needed to detain drivers and check vehicles. ROV officers are ex-TP officers. They are like LTA's personal police force to catch illegal mods and those driving without valid road tax.

 

TP is under SPF. They handle all traffic offence matters like speeding, attending to accidents. They are not trained to identify the different makes and models of vehicles and illegal mods. Eg. A TP will just call my Lancer a Mitsubishi while an ROV will call it a CS3.

 

Although ROV and TP ride the same bike, they have different license plates. While a TP bike has the "TP" prefix, an ROV bike will have a "ROV" prefix.

ROV is ROV, TP is TP. Think some of you are confused and linking the two together. They are totally separate organisations. ROV under LTA and TP under SPF. But ROV are ex police officers who still have valid police powers, just that they use them for different purposes.

 

If it's an ROV waiting there, it cannot be for any criminal activities which are under the scope of the TP. Anyway if they are out to catch a criminal, they won't just send one lone guy on a bike.

 

And also, does TP carry a digicam with them on their rounds? I haven't seen any TP whip out a digicam before. Only ROV.

 

Yes, TP do carry digicam with them.

 

I saw 1 TP took out a digicam, and started taking photo of the illegally parking cars, as well as the surrounding.

 

Reckon that they are going to blacklist the place.

 

FYI, the place is Archorvale, besides the Buddhist and Toaist temples.

Yes, on second thought TP should carry digicam with them too. Believe sometimes when they attend to accidents they have to take photos of the scene too.
