Lau_mathew Clutched March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 Bro, it's an Evo and the driver had passed away sad to hear that. This is often the case when your car decided to give those trunks a hug. the impact would not have been this bad if a car was to hit onto railings or wall. think i saw this issue being discussed somewhere b4. Friendstar Supercharged March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 The evo driver lost control of the vehicle, S-AYC, ACD and all...Too much reliance on electronic gadgets coupled with complacent driving, our trees are in true peril of being bruised by the metal which onced belonged on cars. u'r driving a BMW M6? Friendstar Supercharged March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 wud this happen to a conti car. just to let u know. my unker drove a merc along Paya Lebar PIE, just outside my block at circuit road. huge bang sound. all the residents fr neighboring blocks came down. merc wrap the tree, his front screen smashed. his namecards can b found 8m in front fr his car. died on the spot. wud this happen to a conti car. yes it did. I believe the old boxy merc will be able to withstand the side impact.
DarkLord 1st Gear March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 Bro Dumber had hyperlinked the website of Stomp and it had reported that the driver had passed away Haizzz... Another life lost on the road...
Huggable Clutched March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 Agree that the outcome would be similar even with a conti. The car looks more like a Evo-wantanmee, with CF bonnet. this is an EVO and evo bodyshell are already much more rigid than normal lancer.. I guess if we replicate this with a conti car also gone case. No car can win trees.
Vampgen Neutral Newbie March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 Got Hear say from my friends its a EVO. Driver was still alive when being pulled out of vehicle. He is only 26 years old. Nowadays cars are made soft so as to cut cost and for easy rescue operation. But in the end, This kind of accident can be real killer.
Zyrofillica 1st Gear March 31, 2007 Share March 31, 2007 lol i dun think they deliberately made cars soft so that pple can be rescued faster. Its just that god made trees pwn everything on earth except leopard tanks and the occasional woodpecker.
Katou Neutral Newbie March 31, 2007 Share March 31, 2007 Would this have happened to a conti-car ? I meant, it such a small trunk which did not seem to have been affected at all. Reports in the Straits Time today mentioned that the tree seem to have least affected with only some barks being scrapped off. Buying a Mitsubishi Lancer...........think again hard ! Image take from Straits Time 30 March 07 CBX It's a Evo VIII
Katou Neutral Newbie March 31, 2007 Share March 31, 2007 (edited) It's a evo VIII.. The driver had passed away. And must be wrong with your brain to tink it's a evo-wannabe and when it's not. Pls know how to differentiate and also show some respect to the driver. Edited March 31, 2007 by Katou
The01 Neutral Newbie April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 i think a lot of luck!!! technonlogy only protects to its limits. ones physics takes over. nothing can defy the newtonian laws. forget about NCAP5star, BBK, ABS.EBD. DSC+T and all that jazz. Newton will definitely win. and if there were a passenger in the LHD RS6. game over man. see peh heng. Hahaha..... it was 2 Audis Vs Tree. Result : Tree won with the help of the Forces. May the Forces be with you! Cheers!
Megalord Neutral Newbie April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 Hard cars may not be very safe either. Crumple zones would help in many cases to absorb shocks. Even the trucks with steel 3/8 inch thick body/bumper and massive protection bars couldn't help much but bend under the laughter of the trees... In some cases so much so that the axle even gave way. Any passenger cars made with steel that thick yet? Haven't seen the one with 1 full inch of steel against trees yet though... Maybe tough fight. Huggable Clutched April 6, 2007 Share April 6, 2007 With that kind of impact, even "hard" cars wouldn't help much. Got Hear say from my friends its a EVO. Driver was still alive when being pulled out of vehicle. He is only 26 years old. Nowadays cars are made soft so as to cut cost and for easy rescue operation. But in the end, This kind of accident can be real killer.
