Would this have happened to a conti-car ? I meant, it such a small trunk which did not seem to have been affected at all. Reports in the Straits Time today mentioned that the tree seem to have least affected with only some barks being scrapped off.

anyway, it doesnt matter whether its a conti, jap, korean or tomyam ride..once it falls to an irresponsible fella, anything can happen..

I think cars aren't meant to take side impacts like that, in NCAP tests the side impact is delivered by a large object simulating a truck/SUV at 60kph (something like that).

 

Who knows how fast this guy was doing sideways? The cylindrical shape of the tree also meant that the impact was not spread over the whole side of the car.

 

At least nowadays, some cars do have side intrusion bars.

conti car? I have seen those 6 tonnes and 10+ tonnes truck in worse shape than this, and they are considered conti made. Those that are kenna crash by conti passenger cars, we used to just spend a little time pulling some small dent(if there is) and its back to its original shape. Would the conti passenger cars fare much better? I personally do not think so. And yes, they are against trees too.

this is an EVO and evo bodyshell are already much more rigid than normal lancer..

I guess if we replicate this with a conti car also gone case. No car can win trees.

probably cos many first time car owners and buying powerful car. read in a mag that a first time car owner went out to get an evo ix gsr and mod it to be even more powerful.

 

i may be judging him wrongly cos first time car owner may not necessary equal new or inexperience driver but im sure there are some out there and this guy may be one of them.

 

it takes years of experience to be able to judge and anticipate road conditions and to react in the correct manner. but some juz think that once got license means very good liao!
