My understanding from the PI so far is the cylinder used for wish and stream are smaller in size and they need two of them which is install behind the third row seat, so basically your boot space is gone, left with only a little to squeeze in your car wash barang.... [shakehead]

You look at all the cars with SOHC engine. From the Lancer GLX to the old 1.5L SOHC Aveo. The low end torque is better.

For conversion, please check with Melchers or Scantruck.

No idea. Could be Scantruck. There is a very good reason why the fill port is in the bonnet/engine bay. The most probable place for leaks is the fill port. In the engine bay, it will leak into the air outside. If it is next to the cylinder in the boot or the petrol fill port, it can leak into the passenger compartment.

I saw pictures on the CNG exhibition in Thailand. The motorcycle is still bifuel. Rider still sit on the petrol tank but the CNG cylinders are now in the carrier box behind. Two small ones like fireman's oxygen breather cylinders.

Whaa now cans of worms opened and everyone knows where I'm from. Nevermind. Hopefully that will wake up the admin of this site that I have emiled them more than 10x to throw money at them to have a sponsored thread. Looks like they don't want money.

Anyway to some of the points here.

1) Website will have compelete revamp, including current and new sites of stations.

2) Website will also have downloadable price list. After all, the current S$2,000 - S$3,500 also no longer applies.

3) Filling nozzle: Now this is a tricky one. Not all cars can fit the nozzle inside the petrol cap for various reasons: Plastic fuel cap recess - cannot. (And most new cars are plastic). "Cheaper" cars that have softer metal in the petrol recess - cannot (too soft and with the filling nozzle hanging on there at some stage the metal will rip). Other cars it becomes so tight, your metal flat will hinge out a bit - ugly.

So, some cars can. Others cannot. But there is one more option which we recently fitted on a Cefiro. Like some LPG cylinders, you can fit an extra cap on the outside of the car. This involves drilling a hole of about 15cm into the body of the car and placing that special CNG nozzle cap in there. Looks quite cool actually, but you must fork out more and it is irreversible!

4) Motorbike. The kit is on its way. But we'll only do one for 'fun'. Not for commercial use.

One more thing. Now that the can of worms have been opened, can people please email directly to [email protected] and not here through me. Also, anybody who in the past might have used the online form on the website, we never got these messages - seems the server had some big issues and we never received them. Anyway, the online form has been removed. So if people have any queries, please email directly.

For fun? laugh.gif

Maybe include a heavy spanner for the rider. When pursued, he will knock off the valves with it and vent the CNG at full blast for extra rocket propulsion boost. laugh.gif

Drivers' reviews are out!

"I am no stranger to fuel efficient driving. My car is a manual transmission 1.4L DOHC Aveo. Needs strict discipline to get 13km/L from RON92 petrol. The car is now bifuel and is using the sequential gas injection kit from OMVL. It is programmed to start and idle on petrol.

With CNG, I have lost some torque when climbing up expressway ramps. You cannot slam down the accelerator and the car must be coaxed gently. The ignition system is very important when it comes to CNG. When installed, I didn't know my coils and flywheel pickup sensor had suffered damage. I did encounter failure to start prior to the installation. After the installation, the car choked a lot on CNG. The coils were stressed a lot. However, shrugged this off as this went away when I was back on petrol. Finally they failed. I had these replaced since and the car behaved even better with CNG. Above this, I reduced my spark plug gaps from the default 1.1mm to 0.9mm and this helped too.

Then came the bad news, I was careless and had a minor accident crashing the rear of the taxi. The car didn't blowup or anything. The gas lines were still safe and secure. It got repaired and a short two months later I got into another minor accident when a car crashed into my rear. Again, nothing out of the ordinary and the car got repaired again.

Right now, because it is programmed with the petrol idling, I am able to get 300km from 12kg of CNG. Do note this a combined petrol/CNG cycle as I encounter congestion daily. I would safely say around 270km covered is from CNG.

Yes. If kenna horrendous accident, it tells SCDF to treat your car with special status. Bomb squad will be called. Nuclear scientists consulted. Astrologists inquired and 4D bookies notified.

Hi bros...

sorry to sidetrack a little... so currently there are 3 CNG stations in Singapore right?

1) Jurong Island

2) Mandai

3) Jalan Buroh

Any ideas where and when will the next one be? Serangoon North right? End of year?

Another thing...actually come to think of it... if you convert a new car to CNG... the Green tax rebate is 40% of OMV right? in that case... the rebate I think already can offset the cost of converting the CNG, isn't it?

if this is true...I think my next car will be CNG converted [;)]

Hi,

Thank you for the email address and the phone call.

Got a rude shock about the new pricing and information about new pricing from your colleague.

As per the phone conversation, i do hope your company can help to provide more information to justify the price increase. As for safety wise, i always believe in paying more for safety but must accompany with supporting information.

Sequential Kit conversion package starting from $3900 [shocked][sweatdrop].

Cheers
