Haha...not really lar...just that the 50wt(Mobil silver is a 50wt oil) oil is a little too thick for my car's liking..engine really rough when going upwards of 3krpm...If you want to use Mobil, go for the gold supersyn...40wt oil smoother.

Or....OWS...Good [thumbsup][thumbsup][thumbsup] but ex lar... [:/]

My 15000KM coming up, should I go get mine done via third party? Or stick with CnC? Am using OWS since 5000km check up, done at CAG. Felt it made a difference after that, overall very good and knowlegable on VAG cars.

Actually I was in the same situation as you were...did my 5k with CAG and 15K with Cnc...overall the cost of servicing at Cnc was more ex by about $100...Reason I went back to Cnc was to try and see if they can detect the flash that was done when they did the VagCom check after servicing heehee..[sly] but now I think I'll go back to CAG...atleast you can see what they're doing to your car.

In that case, will you risk your warranty voided?

I was wondering, if i don't go back for the regular servicing. Would they know and choose to void the warranty?

They can void the warranty based on dat?? Wat if the breakdown is due to the equipment?? e.g. speedometer stucked, radiator leakage...etc....

Thanks for the advise and comments, think will go back to CnC than, will bring my own engine oil. Is it recommended to change my autogear transmission box oil as well?

you changed at 5k right??? if yes not necessary. your car is manufactured much later than mine... I changed mine because I took delivery of a 04 model in 06. considering that the car has been sitting in the showroom for 2 years with no activity....its more prudent to change it out for a peace of mind.

Ya they could say 'oh because you didn't come for your regular servicing. thus we're not going to warrant the product'

of course they'll know. They keep records of your ride everytime you send it in for service & the record include mileage during the service .....

So if you skip one, they'll know immediately when you bring in your ride during the next round ....

bro, maybe you can check with them when you send in your ride as to what happens if one skip the one service interval & go back for the next one ?

Will that void warranty ?

Better to hear from the true source than speculating here ..... lipsrsealed.gif

I believe all pre-FL Superbs are specified with QG1 (long life service) specification. According to the option price list in Europe, it costs extra to have Skoda vehicles specified with QG1.

Good to know that the FL Superbs are specified with QG2 - a more logical choice considering our local driving conditions.

That Shell Helix sticker is affixed by the Skoda factory. It is highly possible that Skoda Czech and Shell Czech may have entered into some kind of partnership.

If you perform a search on Shell Helix engine oils in this forum, you will find better quality oils which cost a fraction of Shell Helix Ultra. Look out for the posts by Genie74.
