Anyone noticed TP damn on the ball nowdays, especially after all the recent Drink driving, buang cases?

with the recent heated up issue on drink driving, i was wonder how many of bro/sis in MCF actually have personal experience when kena stop by TP after some drinks. what do you feel and how do you get out of the situation.

 

I have 2 accounts that i can share, it was not my personal encounter, but it was my colleagues.

 

first guy, he was 22yr old then, still studying in poly. he drank with his friend quite abit and kena stop by TP on the way home driving his dad's car. Panic after he failed the first 2 breathanalyser test. He plead with TP that he is still a student, TP give him last chance to blow real hard into the tester. somehow this time, he passed. till today, he never dare to drink and drive anymore.

 

second guy, during a colleague's wedding dinner, he down some red wine + beer. on the way home, he was driving co van and forget to turn on highlights. on the PIE, a patrol car saw him and stopped him. they made him take the breathanalyser test and he was lucky to pass near the threshold. nevertheless, he was still fine for not turning on headlights. close encounter for him as the police could have ask him to go hospital to take urine test.

 

actually, does the recommendation of 2 glasses of beer max to maintain within the alcohol limit applies to everyone?

It is not a matter of 1 or 2 glasses to pass the test that matters.

It is whether the brain can take it, even for a sip.

 

Bottom line, when drink, don't drive!

 

For those who wanna cause pain to themselves, by all means.

But do remember there'll always be other users on the same road!

never over limit but can also be charged for driving under influence of alcohol or medication.

 

that is if the TP assess the driver to be unfit for driving although never over the limit of 32 micro gram in ur breath.

Well said, bro Kingkong. It is just stupid to f@rk up one's life/future because of a couple of glasses of alcohol. We are not like the ang mohs who have that special enzyme in their blood to break down alcohol...... we get drunk much more easier, as a result. Want to drink must be man enough not to drive.

Lorry driver nabbed for drink driving

SINGAPORE: A 34-year-old lorry driver was arrested on Friday night for drink driving, thanks to a tip-off by a public-spirited man.

 

Mr Lim, a sales and marketing executive, was driving along the Pan Island Expressway at about 11:15pm when he had a near collision with a lorry.

 

Mr Lim noticed that the lorry driver was driving in an unsteady manner, and decided to trail him from a distance.

 

He also called the police for assistance.

 

The lorry driver drove into a multi-storey carpark at Block 656A, Woodlands Ring Road and fell asleep in his vehicle.

 

Police arrived shortly and conducted a breathalyser test on him.

 

The lorry driver failed the test and was placed under arrest.

 

He had significantly exceeded the breath alcohol legal limit of 35 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath.

 

The Traffic Police thanked Mr Lim for his public-spiritedness and for literally going the extra mile to help police nab the drunk driver. - CNA/ir

 

can TP catch him for drink driving..when he's not driving at the moment he's caught?

There was another case I heard - the driver realised he was too intoxicated to drive, and hence drove to the side and rested. Police found him sleeping in his car, and he failed analyser test. He was charged with drink driving as otherwise, the car would not be there in first place, i.e. he drove the car there.

 

But the fact he pulled aside on his side was taken as mitigation for lighter sentencing.

 

Anyway, please, let us all as drivers be responsible when it comes to drink driving. There was once when after an official function where we had to entertain overseas guests, I opted to stay back at Cafe and asked my wife to take a taxi down to drive me back (I drove there in first place as I was pressed for time and could not get a taxi).

Charge Under Dangerous Driving May Cause Harm to Other.....
