Zcold 2nd Gear July 3, 2007 Share July 3, 2007 er.. if i'm not wrong the R390 is more of a le mans car... those "for sale" were juz produced to fulfil the racing guidelines... and the R390 seems to be a "copied" design engine... tink the new GTR (no more skyline le) is better if you're talkin abt a road car as it meets emissions standards while having god-like performance and probably has been in R&D since 2002 since the BNR-34 ended production. then again... i'm know little of the R390 IMO.. the z-tune is the best Nissan ever built... haha.. my 2 cents ↡ Advertisement Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Kiadaw 6th Gear July 4, 2007 Share July 4, 2007 8-10 already booked this car...ranging 250-300k... new 350z also not bad...upgrade some of its engine parts...5.7 second...alot faster than the older version You must be very hardcore to put this kind of money on a Nissan, even for a GTR. I know I wouldn't. Hope Nissan isn't trying too hard...remember Honda with its NSX, it huge (Ferrari rivaling) price tag make for slow sales outside of Japan. Unless this is kinda like "pet" project like Veryon or Mclaren F1 which aren't design to make money, but build on passion & showcase technology. But Japanese companies are not known for such stuff... To my knowledge i doubt any PIs dare to take orders for this car now due to a few reasons 1) Specs not confirm yet 2) Not able to predict yen currency vs SG currency and with such a huge amount to play with, not much places will dare to take order now. 3) If one will to say GR takes in order already, how confirm can you be? Have you seen the sales contract? Have you talk to the buyer? Or you are just guessing? Speculation is not wrong but dun mislead by sounding as if it's true. So let's put aside this quarrel between jerry and freshman and let's focus more on the car. FYI if there is no delay, Skyline will be launch around the third quarter of the yr(sept/oct). Anyway, MAyeb there's a clause in the contract that say there will be refund, top up if price differ from contract. I wouldn't know. I highly doubt it will be launch this year cause the final production model isn't even shown to public yet. It is suppose to be shown at this year Tokyo car show, along with Honda new NSX concept & production model of the overexposed Mitsu Evo X. MAybe Toyota.. I mean Lexus, will bring their LF-A (or watever) concept its call to the show. No a side note, the LF-A is said to be launch to celebrate Toyota first F1 win... Zcold 2nd Gear July 5, 2007 Share July 5, 2007 bro(s) ... hmm... the naming tinggy changed a bit... maybe i can clear the air a bit the RB26DETT in-line6 series skylines, namely r32, 33, and the famous 34 are all called skylines. these cars originated from a sedan version... and each variant say the r34 has many versions, from a 4door NA 2L engine; to the ER-34 or GT-T, a 2.5L turbo RWD (which i tink TCM brought in back then); to the "godzilla" BNR-34 GT-R, 2.6L turbo with a special AWD system like evo's SYC and audi's quattro which is around since the r32, hence the GT-R badge. aft the last Skyline BNR-34 GT-R rolled out in aug 2002, (not including the z-tune), nissan decided to divide it into 2 separate models, the 'skyline' and the 'GT-R' newer skylines continued production and out came the V35 and V36.. with the V36 350GT Type SP being a 3.5L V6 315bhp NA rwd sedan, not common in sg... tink only one or 2 coupe version brought in by garage-R GT-Rs never saw production for 5 years till this current yet launched monster... nissan spent such a long time to produce the next GT-R so as to meet the 34's success in addition to stricter emission standards in jap and europe... haha.. juz my limited knowledge... correct me if i'm wrong... Anyway Kiadaw i dare to confirm why no PI will dare to take order because like you say, launching date aint even confirm yet. So to prevent problem between PI and customers, booking are normally avaliable only after launching date is confirm. But at least the chassis is definitely R series :) *** To readers of this post... For everyone info, whatever is discuss here is only soley base on our own speculations. There's no conclusive evidence what specs, name, etc. it'll be for the following launch of skyline GT-R.
