Check13 3rd Gear July 7, 2007 Share July 7, 2007 Someone advertised on papers today... $135,888 deliver Aug 07. Didn't know that P.I also bringing this model. i saw too in the papers today. PI selling it for $126k. But i'm very sure this price is after the usual gimmicks. That means, after max rebates and without a lot of accessories. Vblaster_w211 2nd Gear July 7, 2007 Share July 7, 2007 Yes. Merc is rumoured to launch new series of TC engines likely to replace the current SC 4 pots next year. Their current V6 M272 will likely remain with a bit of tune up.

Coolad 5th Gear July 9, 2007 Share July 9, 2007 For BMW, should just try the 325i, superb power and torque, i think the 320 and even 323 are lame. Only in Europe and Asia, do we get this highly tuned N52B25 engine(basically its the 3.0L block with smaller bore). Those guys in America are so envious, coz their 325i is a detuned 3.0L block. 320 is just too heavy to be powered by a puny 4 cylinder engine, sluggish performance, and BMW is not well known for it, their IL-6 is. on equal footing compare 325i vs IS-250 vs C230 V6, and its easy to see who;s the winner... Magfocus 5th Gear July 9, 2007 Share July 9, 2007 Totally agree on the 325i part.. As for the 320i, its sufficient for SG roads.
Kameltoh Neutral Newbie July 9, 2007 Share July 9, 2007 HAHAHAHAHAHA! Agree with u. Most of the time, when a WRX overtakes me, i still see it at the next traffic junction
Magfocus 5th Gear July 9, 2007 Share July 9, 2007 Power is only power, nothing else. Not finesse, not class, not delicacy. Rather have a 320i (which I do), than a WRX anytime (Had one before too)
Exowraith Neutral Newbie August 23, 2007 Share August 23, 2007 (edited) Love the new C Class esp with the logo on the grille. Nice mercs are CLS SL new C class this car makes the BMW 3 series look like crap. not the coupe one the sedan version. I think the old 3 series look better than the new one these small execs look good Merc C Class Lexus IS250 Volvo S40 Audi A4 Check out this video. It looks great in white http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQxz5yqAhcs Edited August 23, 2007 by Exowraith

Mcfguy 1st Gear August 23, 2007 Author Share August 23, 2007 Yes, seems like most ads of the new c-class is using white as the trademark colour...but I'm imagining if you see the real car in black, sure damn swee!
Miles 4th Gear August 24, 2007 Share August 24, 2007 Test drove the new C class yesterday at their roadshow at Millenia Walk. In the flesh, the new C is quite a sight to behold (not in the same league as the 159 tho). I tested the C200K. Powerwise, its more than sufficient for our roads tho nobody will complain if you have more power (just like $$$ ) Comfort wise, it is really very good for a compact car. IMO better than E90 Three. Space is the same as 3 series (but bigger than IS250) but boot space is bigger than both. Built quality is very good/solid... but i do spot some cheap plastics still, tho not easily spottable. Steering is light and steering wheel is huge. I prefer the 3's steering wheel and steering feel. But overall, it's very very close to the 3 in terms of driving pleasure, but slightly more comfortable. Specs level is quite high. Whatever you can name it they have it,.. except no Satnav (only C350 has satnav as standard) Pricing wise... not competitive. C200K they are asking for $156888 non negotiable (OMV $43500). C180K (coming in later) is $141888 but without a lot of things. Comparing to the inline6 323i (177PS 230Nm), asking for $158888 negotiable (OMV $48500)... will anyone prefer the 4pot force induction C200K (184PS 250Nm)? Robbo Neutral Newbie August 24, 2007 Share August 24, 2007 saw the new black c200 in ntu yest.. wonder who's driving it
Check13 3rd Gear August 26, 2007 Share August 26, 2007 (edited) OMV $43k and selling for $157k non negotiable??? You typo error is it? C200 OMV shd be abt $48k rite? if it's abt the same OMV as a 3 then price is too steep liao. But have to admit the C200 is much better from almost every aspect. wonder what's the OMV of the C180 gonna be. Miles 4th Gear August 27, 2007 Share August 27, 2007 except the engine. 1.8 SC 4pot old engine retuned upwards is hardly exciting.
Nus24 Neutral Newbie August 27, 2007 Share August 27, 2007 When the IS250 was launched...many people say the BIG side mirrors are an eye sore. However the new c-class also seems to have huge side mirrors. But it seems the integration is more proportional, such than no reviews yet made any comments on that.
