LukePinetree 1st Gear May 5, 2014 Share May 5, 2014 nice.. interior looks like has been re-upholstery, mileage pretty low, may want to sent to Wearnes for a check. if direct seller ask for his service history and what has been changed.
Accordvtec 1st Gear May 6, 2014 Share May 6, 2014 do bring it to your preferred workshop(preferabbly Volvo savvy) to do a health check. You will not want to buy the car and spend a bomb on it with < 2 years on the birth cert.
Boooon 1st Gear May 6, 2014 Share May 6, 2014 thanks thanks ... will probably go see see look look first and see whether the car 'talks' to me

jmesthy Neutral Newbie February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 (edited) Hi, i bought a 2009 S40 2.0L about 2 month plus ago. I sent the car for servicing on 21st Dec 2015. By 30th Jan 2016, the car was showing "check oil level' message. I checked the dipstick and found it's half way between max and min. I brought the car back to the workshop and was told it's normal for Conti cars to "eat" engine oil. Just wanted to check if anyone also purchased a 2nd hand Volvo S40 and having this problem too or the mechanic just plain lazy to check for me. By the way, i have only clocked about 3K plus after the servicing in Dec. Can't imagine doing this every 3K mileage. mersaylee Hypersonic February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 Not sure about s40 my p2 s60 did started to consume a bit of EO since 9th year old. Had to top up a little at least once every month till scrap. Maybe the said mechanic was eating 蛇羹 when you were there...
jmesthy Neutral Newbie February 3, 2016 Share February 3, 2016 Not sure about s40 my p2 s60 did started to consume a bit of EO since 9th year old. Had to top up a little at least once every month till scrap. Maybe the said mechanic was eating 蛇羹 when you were there It surprising that the EO can drop about 0.5L after only driving it for 3K plus KM. This car is only 6.5 years old. mersaylee Hypersonic February 3, 2016 Share February 3, 2016 It's better to check the transmission n cooling system for any internal leak.
