The name 'Corolla' is just a base name..... The Altis is like version name....

Altis is to distinguish the different Corollas meant for different mkts.

 

When Altis was launched in Taiwan and Thailand, Singapore had only the Japan made Corolla, better known as the G9 Corolla.

 

Corolla is also called Allex in Japan.
