Barlonglong Neutral Newbie August 14, 2007 Share August 14, 2007 (edited) Got it from an email...... [/size] True or not? Sorry if have posted earlier or before!!!! This happened recently in Malaysia 's Petaling Jaya. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. NO MATTER HOW BUSY YOU ARE, YOU MUST GIVE YOURSELF AT LEAST 3 MINUTES TO READ THIS. I just thought to let know what my doctor told me recently. I don't think she was lying and neither am I, so please pass this on to your friends. Her clinic is in SS2 (Petaling Jaya in Malaysia ) and you know how congested that place is. One morning a few months ago in broad daylight, a girl was getting into her car when a few men approached her with what looked like a torchlight. Quite harmless looking. They pressed the "torchlight" into her back and immediately she went limp and very pale. So she wouldn't be able to fight back, they slashed her thigh with a parang and sped away in her car. There were many people around and they quickly took her to the nearest clinic which was my doctor's clinic. There were two doctors at that time and they managed to stitch up her wound but the girl remained pulse-less and still pale as paper. No pulse, no BP (blood pressure). Just like dead. My doctors were confused as to how one wound on the thigh made the girl almost like dead? They managed to revive her and save her life. After some checking around, the doctors found out what actually happened was that the girl was made unconscious not by a torchlight but actually a high voltage weapon. I forgot how many watts she mentioned. 1000? Anyway, it was high enough to kill a person by electrocution. It seems this weapon is from China. It's not rampant yet in Malaysia, but with this thing, a person can rob, rape, kill, kidnap, and practically do anything to you. My doctor said that if the girl weren't taken to the clinic immediately she would have died because there was no pulse on her. So please just beware of your surroundings, if anybody is lurking around with a torchlight-thingy and approaches you, just scream or run away. Rickster 5th Gear August 15, 2007 Share August 15, 2007 I think the "torchlight" they mentioned is a stun gun. Such things exists, saw one of those in the armoury of my unit last time.
Sotong_kia Neutral Newbie August 15, 2007 Share August 15, 2007 (edited) Stun gun (or Taser) doesn't incapacitate a person silently.. It makes lots of noise, and the victim makes lots of noise. And it doesn't kill. The person who kenna will have muscle spasm and will feel week in the legs, bowels, etc.. It will not cause a situation of "no pulse"... otherwise.. it will not be labelled as non-lethal law enforcement equipment, or self defense. Like that become more lethal than gun... Then how come ppl in the USA allowed to carry it without license.. Turbine Neutral Newbie August 15, 2007 Share August 15, 2007 But it mentioned it those might be bought in China , so probably no safety precaution was being considered. I saw those things in China, they are selling it like toys!!!
Sotong_kia Neutral Newbie August 15, 2007 Share August 15, 2007 (edited) There are 2 kinds.. one is where you want to walk up and touch the fella with the probe.. The other are long distance, where 2 pins will shoot out with wires attached and then it will discharge.. These requires cartridges.. like need to buy ammo.. So most probably those cheap battery operated one.. Even if it is not "safe", it is not easy to use a battery and make it kill... If they use cheap components, I am sure they can't reproduce such shocking effects.. Otherwise, terrorist can make it long ago liao, no need to wait for China.. Sotong_kia Neutral Newbie August 15, 2007 Share August 15, 2007 Stun guns produces typically anything between 30,000 to 100,000 volts.. all from a single 9-volt battery. Voltages doesn't kill.. current and passing through the heart causes heart failure. Stun gun are superficial and doesn't penetrate deep..

Chucky2007 Turbocharged August 15, 2007 Share August 15, 2007 actually it may be true.. i have seen those made-in-china Stun-gun for self defence. in fact in my parent's house in indonesia, we have 2 small ones and 2 long ones that look like a maglite steel torch. my brother has used them on rats and these things have killed the rats instantly, therefore i told them NEVER play with them, and even if there are thieves, NEVER use them unless its life threatening. If the product is made in japan, germany or USA, then i think it will only stun the assailants, but made-in-china products... i am not sure abt that. By the way its quite easy to buy them in indonesia, and i am sure it can be found in malaysia as well. i am just glad that it didnt find its way into singapore.. Tunge 1st Gear August 15, 2007 Share August 15, 2007 (edited) but actually a high voltage weapon. I forgot how many watts she mentioned. 1000? Anyway, it was high enough to kill a person by electrocution. defiantely is a spam mail urban legend lah... the TS cut and paste from a spam mail he got, not from his own experience. anyways Voltage is measured in Volts, Watts measure Power. and it's actually the amount of current (amperes) that kills a preson. so don't care whether it's 1000 V or 100 V won't kill if current is below 100 mA. and yah how the hell the doctor deduce the power of the device in the first place.
