Dumb 4th Gear August 19, 2007 Share August 19, 2007 After the standard discount, I think the net price charged by all stations is the same without taking into account further discount when using certain cards. Assuming no further discount, which pump is offering better reward? In my case, I used to pump Shell 95. While pump prices go up, my reward points the same because Shell calculates reward points based on litres pumped. Other stations give rewards based on dollar value pumped. Wondering whether "Shell Escapte the better way to be rewarded" is true? Should I switch? ↡ Advertisement
Haurus85 Neutral Newbie August 19, 2007 Share August 19, 2007 SPC's card reward program is based on dollar value pumped, I think that basing it on litres pumped is definately going to be at a loss for the consumer because the pump price just keeps rising but your rewards are not rising along with it. You also might want to consider the types of petrol on offer i guess. And if you believe in all the marketing hype of their petrol.
Pisces69 6th Gear August 19, 2007 Share August 19, 2007 I also have the SPC card. The % of discount keeps increasing as u pump more & the amt is calculated on the $ value which is more fair. Without any other discounts based on credit card used etc, I think SPC gives the best discount. I pump 95 whenever I need to fill up in SG but wonder if there is any cheaper alternative to pumping SPC? I still liked the time when we got a bar of FA soap every time we pumped $20. I like the smell of FA & leave it in the car so I don't even need to have any air-fresheners.

Thermodynamics Neutral Newbie August 19, 2007 Share August 19, 2007 How many percent discount does SPC gives? Surely it will not offer more than its competitors right? Nobody likes losing money in business. The SPC card is available for all to apply?

Pisces69 6th Gear August 19, 2007 Share August 19, 2007 I dont know exactly how much but the amount increases as u pump more. So the more u pump, the larger the discount becomes. I was offered the SPC card the 1st time I went in to pump as the girl told me if I pump more I wil benefit with a bigger discount & the card is free so I just took 1 as nowadays I might b busy to pump in JB & since SPC took over the BP stations, there r quite a few of them around the island.. Pisces69 6th Gear August 19, 2007 Share August 19, 2007 "FA" is the brand of soap. They have lovely smelling soaps. I found out their cost is only $0.25 per cake. I wish I cud buy it at that price. A fren once bought a few cartons of it at an auction for only 10 cents a cake. I wish I knew about it too. I wud have gotten several cartons for myself.
