Parents in line at school upset that only 1 place was left, not 10 as shown on MOE website

FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED: Parents of foreign students, for whom Phase 3 is meant, started forming a queue outside Tanjong Katong Primary at 4pm on Monday. They were told 28th at 7pm that there was just one place left.

THEY spent about 24 hours sitting on the hard pavement - and in wet weather - outside Tanjong Katong Primary School on Monday. Is this fair? [furious]

The reason: The school had just one place left, not 10 as indicated on the Education Ministry (MOE) website, which had not been updated.

Neighborhood school cannot study mei

I will never want to do such things.

I will apply for a good school, but if my child can't get it, I wouldn't stoop to this.

I think neighborhood school is good enough for primary level. If he is capable, I am sure he could get into a good secondary school by his own effort. That is more important.

I think the school should let these parents should go for a ballot to decide who is the lucky one rather every year we see many these type of scenarios again & again [rolleyes][rolleyes][rolleyes]

Maybe, our system here should change for this phase of intake [sunny][sunny][sunny]
