Thermodynamics Neutral Newbie September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 Bro, where you do your set up? Your intake system is designed specifically for your car right? Or custom made? ↡ Advertisement
Sickscientist Clutched September 10, 2007 Share September 10, 2007 Process> Performance Spark Plugs - DONE! Guess the only thing missing is the Headers... any good suggestions? Btw, it should be LTA approved right? Intake headers yes... But grey area for exos headers.... Ooh... Bout ur worry whether the engine will run too lean, add in an Air Flow Converter to correct ur air fuel ratio to 14.7:1, the most efficient burning ratio... Zoomprotege Clutched September 10, 2007 Author Share September 10, 2007 Bro, my ATF cooler is second hand. You can ask Raymond at Auto Dynamac for a quote.
Zoomprotege Clutched September 10, 2007 Author Share September 10, 2007 For a 1.6, your low end might suffer a bit more. The pickup is already quite slow right? I used to drive a Protege. Anyway, no harm asking around if anyone else has done it.
Zoomprotege Clutched September 10, 2007 Author Share September 10, 2007 Customised for my ride. Apexi does make some induction kit for some cars. Go to the website and check. I believe most of the cars here with open pod are customised for the ride. You can PM me for the contact.

Magfocus 5th Gear September 11, 2007 Share September 11, 2007 It seems that his intake length is quite long, the long intake path probably help to negate the lost in low-end through better swirl of intake air. Correct or not? Thats the theory..in practice?
Zoomprotege Clutched September 11, 2007 Author Share September 11, 2007 Thanks man!!
Zoomprotege Clutched September 11, 2007 Author Share September 11, 2007 Thought the shorter pipe will be better for air-flow to travel to the manifold. Tat's the theory behind the RAM right?
Magfocus 5th Gear September 11, 2007 Share September 11, 2007 Thats for high end..for low end, there has to be some swirl effect of some sort.
Mzrmazda3 6th Gear September 11, 2007 Share September 11, 2007 For a 1.6, your low end might suffer a bit more. The pickup is already quite slow right? I used to drive a Protege. Sickscientist Clutched September 11, 2007 Share September 11, 2007 (edited) Bro, tell me more about air flow converter. Brands and where to buy? Cost? Thanks. Ok sure.... I only know of a brand that's producing this which is A'pexi... Cost abt $600 for a new one without tuning(Tuning will cost u abt $50, road tune and about $100 for dyno tune).... I'd rather u get a used set... CLICK HERE The one shown is an S-AFC Neo.. An SAFC II(the neo's predecessor) is more than sufficient if ur main concern is air fuel ratio.. FYI, I got mine 2nd hand(SAFC II) from other forums... Edited September 11, 2007 by Sickscientist
Zoomprotege Clutched September 11, 2007 Author Share September 11, 2007 Where can I do one new with tuning? It's a lot cheaper than HKS F-Con. What other functions does it do that's normally used by us? It seems like it's more catered for Vtec engine. Mine's VVTI.
Sickscientist Clutched September 11, 2007 Share September 11, 2007 Yup... This set is a balance between VAFC(another gadget for VTEC veh) and SAFC... For new one(Neo), u may get it from Speedworks in Kallang, Lim Tan Motor.. Otherwise, u may get it from Speedworks, and do tuning in another workshop(LTM, St Powered).. Lim Tan Motor Lim Tan's SAFC II
