There was once w/o knowing, I ask a friend how come so many ppl like to on their fog lights, is it they dunno or thay do purposely? My friend's reply was to make the ride look nicer or sportier. True enuf, he's one of these culprits. Now u see some mentality or how vain some owners are, we sit inside the car but we are so concerned of how ppl will look at our ride. No wonder Taiwan Li Aao commented that Singaporeans are stupid bcos we dun even know how to make use of fog light properly, but yet we wanna argue that we are not, so arent we stupid in the first place compare to other countries Li Aao has mentioned? Yes we are stupid bcos comparing other countries, they simply bo chap his comments, y bcos the ppl think since I m not stupid so y should I argue with you? See the whole pic? Let me relate another real case, I once told an Estima driver that his rear foggie is on, he says he knows so I told him it's also good to let him know this is extra lighting that causes blinding effect to motorist behind. He wind up his window & off it.

When I face a coming vehicle with foglights on (in good weather), I would high beam (flash) to give them a warning; a lot of folks don't actually know that their goggies are on.

In my opinion , i think that drivers who ON their fog light is ok as long as its not the glaring type ( example my mazda3 sport ) and when i ON it the headlight seems to out glare the fog light and i dunno what can it do in bad weather condition except for other driver to see 2 extra lights down there , as for those drivers who ON their rear fog light , i personally think that its really [hur] and the glare can really blind the view of driver behind .

Fog lights as the name suggests only helps out in foggy or really dark conditions. It doesn't throw out a focused beam, it shines out a wide angle diffused beam that helps illuminate the immediate few metres in front of the car (assuming it is properly adjusted) as well as the peripheral surrounding.

Rear fog lamps are brighter than your normal rear red driving lamps, it seems to be as bright as your brake lights when you step on the brakes. However if you are following a car with his rear fogs on, it is very uncomfortable. Once, I switched to high beam at a Chevy Aveo just to let him have a taste of what I'm staring at, and the moment he turned his fog lamp off, I too turned off my high beam, so that it left him no doubt what I high beamed him for.

The thing is, it seems like some people like to have their cars lit like Christmas trees when driving around, they tell themselves that it is "for safety" when they really want people to look at them.

The worst offenders are those with illegally fitted HID bulbs on both headlights and foglights, and use both of them.

The fact is, when I see bright white lights coming up behind me, I usually give way. Either it is a fast car, or it is a wannabe-fast car. I don't want to hold them up either way.
