1)after rebuilt,works fine at shop.

2)brought home,installed drivers,shut down.

3)cant switch on few hours later,no burnt smell, changed cables, still nothing.

4)brought the cpu ard house socket points to test, also nothing.

5)brought to shop next day,works fine.came back,works fine.

6)subsequently,cant switch on anymore.Changed new extension cord etc...useless.

how?? [hur]

next thing i'm going to try is to bring my own cpu to test at her place. [crazy]

this is like very frustrating, and i am suppose to be on leave with gf.... and am getting bothered by this darn cpu [knife]

something wrong with the com lah. bo bian go abck to shop again lor. don't think it's to do with the power supply in the house lah. other electrical appliances like TV, fridge, rice cooker, etc can work don't suppose any reason why cpu cannot on.

try plugging the power socket to an extension cord and tap supply fr elsewhere.

but a worst possibility.

off all supplies.

check the motherboard, did u install it DIY or the shop? is the mobo secured down properly. did u push down the mobo when there is no supply?

any led light on at that time.

biggest fear is mobo was powered but if not secured properly and push down, comes into contact with casing.. mobo fries....

there could be a short circuit somewhere.

Double check to see if your bottom mb parts are not in contact with the casing, also, try to get a different PSU to try on the PC.

I suspect is either short circuit, or the electric supply in your gf's house is unclean, so the PSU may be too sensitive.

400W shd be more than enough...changed PSU cos the graphic card need ard 375W.

other stuffs quite minimal...1xHDD,1xDVD drive,1x$12 sound card... [laugh]

i had power issues before.

sometimes can on sometimes cannot.

is your 400W really 400W or one of those $20 type? what GPU?

it may work at your place and at SLS because her place could be older, or one of her sockets has issues.

why don't you use your PSU on her PC at her place?

doing up your own PC has its joys lar. after the 1st few times it's like building lego.
